FIRST Carolina Game for B! (9/15/12)

We took Baker to his FIRST Carolina game on Saturday.  Baker is 2 months shy of his 3rd birthday so I thought it was the perfect time for him to have his first gamecock experience.  It was a 7PM game so we didn't have to worry about him getting burnt or being overheated.  While it was a little warm in the afternoon it made for a wonderful evening.  Although it wasn't easy with a potty training (almost trained) toddler...it was SO worth it.  We only had 2 accidents and I don't entirely blame them on him...the crowds were loud and I think he just got too excited!  While I was very prepared with tons of extra clothes, I failed to bring in a plastic bag to put wet clothes in...oops!  I guess I didn't anticipate having to actually use the clothes?

We had a great time tailgating with yummy food and the boys had fun watching sports on my dad's tv gadgets! We can't wait to take Baker to another game.  He really got excited during certain points of the game and lost interest at others.  One part he did really like was half time.  He loved to watch the band march!

Although I doubt Baker and I will be going to another USC football game this year, I can't wait to take him to another game.  While it was work taking a toddler, his facial expressions of pure joy and excitement while he was there was worth every minute.  He might not recall all the festivities of the day but I have these pictures to remind him just how awesome it was taking him to his first game.  It was there that he told us he wanted to go to USC.  :)  He even sings the song quite well...dumm dumm dum dummmm...USC...Gooooo Cocks!

I know it'll be a little more difficult to get to a game as a family next year having a baby but we will make every attempt to get at least Baker to a game next year with Daddy, Nana, and Poppy.

Go Gamecocks!
