Can you believe that was our storage unit? Yes, we had that thing jam packed from floor to ceiling. eekkk!
My sweet, desperately hot, and tired hubby. Don't worry, me being the good wife brought him shorts that he changed into immediately. Poor thing was moving in his work pants!
We unpacked the truck until 1130PM. Thanks to my OCD, all our boxes were neatly labeled so it made it easy for them to know where to put all our random boxes. I was not about to spend the night in disarray so my dad and I went back to Irmo to stay at their house. I had to get up early the next morning to take Baker to his 18M well baby visit. However, Gordie and Wesley thought they'd spend the night in the house after returning the moving truck around midnight.
I got Baker to his well baby visit the next morning at 8AM(which we couldn't get his ONE shot) thanks to him having HFM infection! Blah. Yes, that stands for hand, foot, and mouth virus. Which he conveniently shared with me as well! Anyway, the virus explained everything as to why he has been SO fussy lately and had the worst diaper rash on the planet that I've ever seen. Of course there is nothing to give them for it as it is one of those lovely "work it out themselves" viruses so we are just waiting it out! It is interesting the way the virus works. It affects people differently but I have these red blistery spots in random places on my hands and feet. The ones on my feet HURT so bad and really hurt when I walk bare foot on the floor. Hopefully they go away soon!
I get a call from a weird number 10 minutes after getting to work. I typically don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize but this one was different. I felt like I was supposed to answer it. On the other end was Gordie's voice. I was a little confused because he wasn't calling from his phone...Turns out, Gordie and Wesley walked out onto the porch and got locked out of the house. The best part of the story is that they were in their PAJAMAS and let me clarify...by pajamas I mean BOXERS! ha! Yes, Gordie had to walk to one of our new neighbors and introduce (no I guess it was ask) if he could use their phone to call me)! Poor guy. I know that had to be embarrassing. In his defense, it is incredibly easy to lock yourself out because the locks are backwards from what you'd think and on the inside the doorknob always turns like it is unlocked even if the outside is locked and doesn't move. Yeah, it is confusing but what a hilarious move in story, right?!?!
Friday night was my first night at the new house. It felt good to finally have our own space but it sure will take a while to get it situated. Baker slept in the pack n play with us at the house and woke us up incredibly early. That reminded us that the crib was the next thing to get put together! My mom spent Saturday with me helping me get the kitchen cabinets lined and put together. She was SUCH a great help! I couldn't have done it w/o her. We escaped and went out to lunch to break the work up and here's a video of Baker having fun with us at lunch! She took Baker home with her that night so we could work more on the house and getting it unpacked. It helped a great deal not having to stop, focus on Baker, and then figure out what the heck you were doing 20 minutes ago! Here's a snapshot of the big boy enjoying his new room.
Today we went shopping for a new TV! Gordie has been wanting a new TV and he finally got it: 55in LED Sony Bravia! This baby will be mounted up on the brick above the fire place that way Baker can't put his fingers on it or stand too close to it! It's gonna be great!! Now we just have to wait for Time Warner to come on Saturday to get us cable & internet. We are so technology deprived!! Our phones just don't cut it.
