Father's Day Weekend!

This weekend was our first official weekend in the house with guess what...technology! Yes, we finally were getting our connection to the world with Cable TV and Internet! woohoo. It sure is the small things you appreciate when you don't have things you are used to. We found out that we are pretty boring people with our movie and TV show collection. I can only watch Finding Nemo so many times and our child friendly DVD collection doesn't entertain Baker for very long so needless to say we were SO happy to see Time Warner Cable.

Friday evening we had our good friends Brittan, Justin and their daughter Madi come over. We grilled hamburgers and hotdogs on Gordie's new grill! Baker and I got him a brand new grill for Father's Day. He picked it out though and I'm glad because then he got the one he wanted!
Madi and Baker had so much fun playing. She even told Justin that she wanted Baker to be her best friend! Aww, sweet isn't it? Madi loved Baker's blocks. She built the tallest block tower I've ever seen! We ended the night at Yumilicious with some delicious frozen yogurt. If you haven't even been, you should DEFINITELY go! It was a great start to a special Father's Day weekend. Unfortunately Gordie had to work ALL day on Saturday but I was here for the glorious cable guy to come and grant us access to the world with cable and internet! Now, we are all happier people. Ridiculous how we all have become so dependent technology isn't it?

Take a look at that!

They loved the playhouse/swing set despite the ants fiasco on the slide.

Baker can't stack them as tall as Madi yet but here's a video of his attempt!

I hope all of you had a Happy Father's Day!! Here's a reminder of how we spent it last year...click here

I hate that I didn't get a picture of Gordie and Baker on the actual day as we were so busy that we forgot! Gordie had a great Father's Day though as we got him ANOTHER big screen TV. Yes, that means we actually returned the two we got from Best Buy. We bought one and there were about 40 vertical lines all over the screen. Gordie returned it and got another one the same kind, a Sony Bravia. We get that one home and have it for 2 days and then we see a burst of light beaming from the right bottom corner. WHAT?!? We both were about to scream. I've never had such bad luck with buying a TV. I returned that one and got a full refund and told Best Buy and Sony to kiss our business goodbye! We headed to Sam's Club and got the 55inch Vizio LED 3D TV. The picture is awesome and I think getting it on Father's Day made the day especially better! That afternoon we spent it by the pool enjoying the water with my family. We had a cookout at our house since we got a new grill and it was great watching the Gamecocks win a close game with my family and all the while enjoying it in the comforts of our new home!

Happy Fathers Day Gordie!

Of course I can't leave out my daddy this Father's Day! It was nice to spend it with him and he got to drink a celebretory beer out of his 2010 CWS Champs mug we got him. Let's hope it comes in handy for us to go far in the CWS this year! We'll be seeing Gordie's dad this upcoming weekend and can't wait to give him his mug too!

We love you Gordie, Daddy, and Daddy Big G!
