I haven't posted any milestones lately so here's what Baker has been up to lately...25 months! ahhh Where is the time going, seriously?!?
- Is mister copycat...yes everyone has to watch what they say at our house! Luckily we haven't had any mishaps or anything come out of our little boy's mouth.
- He still is wearing 24M - 2T clothing.
- Nana and Poppy got him a new pair of styling Saucony shoes for Christmas. He loves them and can ALMOST put them on his feet himself. Toddler size 7 regular width shoes!
- Can string 2-4 word phrases together but still has some of his Baker moments where he speaks what sounds like Chinese or another foreign language.
- Sings Row Row Row Your Boat, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and his ABCs all by himself. He makes up his own lyrics for some parts but that just makes it that much cuter!
- Still sleeps in his crib and we are not ashamed. We will be working him into his big boy bed but I'm not rushing anything. He is perfectly content in his crib so why rush it?
- Lately has had a thing for late and I mean LATE afternoon naps and long ones. Ones that interfere with bed time. Yikes, yes he likes to nap on the weekends around 3-4 which last 3 hours so somehow we have to scale back our schedule so he can get back to his regular nap time schedule.
- LOVES to say his friends at school names on our way to school - His best buddies are Aaron, Kaiya, Walton, Bentley, Jayden, and Talen.
- We have our routine in the morning: get up, get dressed, eat, head out the door for school, and sing songs on the way to school (who needs a radio?) but the best part is when I say, Baker...look to your LEFT and he looks to his left as we wait to pass by the horses! We go by a farm on the way to school which happens to be a breeder but he LOVES to say hi horsey's every morning. Not a morning goes by that we don't greet them!
- LOVES V8 Splash juice. He still despises veggies so this way he gets at least one helping or two! I'm still trying to work veggies in his meals. Patience, right? He did keep wanting to eat lettuce with ranch dressing on it tonight at dinner. baby steps! haha
- Having a hard time breaking him of his habit of constant milk drinking. He has a thing for whole milk just like his daddy! His pediatrician didn't say we needed to do anything different or cut back but I just wonder how much milk is too much? He doesn't drink THAT much...the way I'm making it sound its like we should have a cow out back in our yard but let's just say he does enjoy his nice cup of cold milk and has no problem asking for it and saying please so that he sounds desperate! Yes, I cave when he says please...it's hard not to. I can't imagine how it will be when he learns "pretty please!"
- Still has a love for planes, trains, trucks, crayons, teddy bears, and books!
- He gets excited when he sees something he likes and will say "ooo Mama, a too too tain!!"
- After reading a book he loves to say "the end"
- We are working on our prayers. We say them every night including saying grace before we eat. Baker finally is learning to interlock his hands to pray. It is the sweetest sight I've seen.
- Is so ready to potty train. He tells us when he is wet or has to poo poo but because he can't move up to the 2 yr old room at school yet...we shall wait. I have to be consistent and I don't want to confuse him by wearing diapers at school and using the potty at home. *Sigh*
On a side note, we have never left him (except for the 2 business trips I had last year but of course he stayed at home with Gordie) so I'm not sure how he'll do with BOTH Gordie and I being gone while we are in Jamaica coming up at the end of this week. However, I'm sure it'll be harder on us than him! What are we going to do with ourselves not being woken up early, toting a diaper bag, washing sippy cups, and chasing our 30 lb white haired ivory skinned boy but we'll manage. We need this time away but we know we will miss him like crazy! I know he'll be well taken care (most likely spoiled) by his Nana & Poppy so he won't have the time to miss us! <3
