6 Months!

I am 6 Months!  Guess what?  I can sit up!

It's hard to believe that we are half way to Preston's 1st birthday.  Time is fleeting but we are cherishing every moment! Preston is growing like a weed and he got 4 vaccines and his last liquid vaccine at his 6 month well visit today.  His stats were as follows:

27 inches long
17 lbs
17.32 in head circumference
We got the go ahead for baby food and I am happy to report that I am MAKING baby food this time. Yes, you read that right I am making baby food. I am kicking myself for not making it for Baker.  It is SO easy not to mention so much cheaper! AHHH all that money we wasted on that "jar" stuff. We got a baby bullet in a package deal with our magic bullet over a year and half ago and I am so thankful.  The baby bullet works wonderful and the steamer that came with it makes steaming the fruits/veggies a breeze!

Foods You have Tried So Far:
1st - Bananas.  You hated them.  You hated them so much you shuttered, shivered, gagged, and then threw it all up. You still hate them.
2nd - Sweet potatoes.  You hated them too and shuttered, shivered, gagged and threw them up as well.  We were persistent and didn't give up and tried day after day giving only 2-3 bites. After 2 days and us giving them to school to give you during the day you finally realized that sweet potatoes really weren't "throw up" bad anymore. YOU LOVE THEM!
3rd - Green beans.  You instantly loved these and didn't get upset at all eating them.
4th - Pears.  Another favorite you seem to enjoy.
5th - Avocado.  You ate these without hesitation and acted like you had had them before.  However, 30 minutes after pigging out and eating an entire helping you threw it all up. :(  Always next time, right?
6th - Peas. You absolutely LOVED peas.  I guess it is fitting since the ladies at school do call you "sweet pea"
7th - Carrots.  You loved them just like you seem to love every other food we make.  :)
8th - Apples.  You enjoyed homemade applesauce! no reactions and all smiles.

While we are entering a whole new world of food, you still LOVE the bottle and enjoy drinking your usual 6 oz breastmilk.  When you see a bottle, you squeal, put your arms out, and pull it close right into your mouth.  You are becoming quite the independent little feeder/eater!
You are becoming more vocal these days through your babbling, squeals, coos of mamas, ba's, ga's.  It is so fun to hear you and watch you grow.  I am so glad God chose us as your momma and daddy and we are so blessed for everyday that we get to hear your sweet belly laugh and see your precious smile.

Happy Half Birthday Sweet P!
