Who knew Baker's new daycare classroom would be having a Valentine's Day celebration? I mean they are only 1 yr old! Gordie dropped off the paperwork to finalize his attendance to start on Monday and the sweet Director gave us a listing of the children in Baker's room. I will admit that it is kind of nice to know the names of the kiddos in his room but the purpose of it wasn't so that we could learn their names but so we could prepare cards for each of them to give out on Monday! And here I thought we had a few more years left before we had to start getting into those activities!
We laughed for a minute and then thought how cute it was for each child to give out cards to each other. I am a giver. I love to give, give, give rather than receive. So maybe this process of giving cards at an early age might reinforce the act of giving? Let's hope so. At least it is a cute activity nonetheless! Plus it gives us an opportunity to be crafty, right? So tonight we went by my favorite store, Michaels, and picked up some cardstock because Baker will be giving out homemade cards! His cards will probably be the least appealing to the other kids since they won't have awesome cartoon characters like Elmo, Barney, Dora, or Caillou but we are going for what's best for the wallet! I am going to tape a snack pack of goldfish to the back to make up for it. No candy for these toddlers. I'll post a picture this weekend.
Enjoy the Valentine's festivities if you're celebrating early!!
