23, Park, & Pumpkins!

Look at our 23 month old! He is getting so big and tall these days that it is becoming more and more apparent that he'll be 2 in just a month.

Saturday we met up with Justin, Brittan, & Madi at Seven Oaks park for some playground time! They had a blast and kept warm on the crisp morning by running around. Baker thoroughly enjoyed the slides...one in particular. He kept circling going up the stairs and then down the slide...up the stairs...down the slide. I might add that he would ONLY go down the same slide each time. He never tried going down the other side. He found it fun to crawl up the stairs and when I would tell him to walk up them he would say "I walk" and groan as he took each step and then giggle and look to see who was reacting. What a ham!

We then had a pit stop at my parents house for a bit and then met up with my friend Ben later that afternoon. Ben had not yet met Baker since he was born and happened to be in Columbia for an Architect Seminar/Conference so the timing was perfect! He got Baker the cutest monster shirt and lion hat/mittens. Even though Baker didn't keep the hat on for a picture, I know when it gets cold outside he won't want to take it off! Of course I forgot to get a picture of the two of them but maybe next time! It was great to see you Ben!

Sunday we had a field trip to Mount Hebron UMC's pumpkin patch. Baker loved it and tried to pick up every pumpkin...big & small. We then stopped at a park near our house and Gordie got to see how much fun Baker has on the playground. Baker loves to squeal, run, and most of all slide down every slide. I think slides are his favorite.

Baker has become very vocal during month 22 and going into 23.

• He now vocalizes what he wants to communicate with us.
• Some of his favorite words are bug, love you, night night, i'm hot , oooo, yucky, mmmm, cool, fun, again, counts to 10, says a variation of Baker, and can finally say POPPY loud and clear!
• Our little chicken eating, ketchup french fry dipper, sweet blows kisses little boy is just exploding with personality more and more each day. I absolutely can't wait for him to be able to say more & more. I'm sure we'll be blown away each time by all his stories. However, I'd appreciate it if I could freeze time right here, right now. I just LOVE him so much at this age. He is so carefree, happy, giggly, and lovable. Although I know I'll probably say that every month from this point forward.

Next month Baker's actual birthday is on a Tuesday. I took off work the entire day to spend with him. I'm thinking a trip to EdVenture just Baker and Mommy will be the perfect way to spend part of his special day. We are hoping Daddy might be able to switch up his day off to spend it with us but we'll just have to see!
