Potty Training...Round 1

We haven't really JUMPED into potty training like we should but I guess our issue is we are NEVER home. We never spend an entire weekend at home to work with Baker but I suppose baby steps towards potty training never hurt, right?

The school Baker goes to will help us potty train but we have to be doing it 100% at home so they will do it 100% while he's there. He's been showing interest every once in a while but everytime I ask him when I think he's ready to go #2 (at least) he'll say No! Yet we put him on the potty with a book and he goes immediately. It is a work in progress and he will get there eventually! Right now we are celebrating baby steps and the milestone we are dancing for tonight is that Baker went #2 in the potty for the 2nd time in a row at home - woohoo! He gets so proud of himself when he does it, says bye bye poo poo and then flushes and we wash our hands. The first night when Baker was done he actually pulled up his pants!! This made me think that we should give pull ups a try so here we are now entering a big step in Baker's life. A step towards no more diapers...oh he's growing up so fast! Yet I know our wallet will appreciate not buying them anymore. However, for right now we will instead buy pull ups until he is 100% potty trained and we can still savor each moment of "changing" him while we can.

We love you Baker Liam! Your personality is showing more and more these days. Telling us "Come here Mama" or "Come here Daddy, I show you"..."Look at that!", "Let me see",You say your blessing before dinner, you help say your prayers at night, you sing lots of songs and ask "what's next?" when you're finished singing, you sing your ABCs, count to 20, recognize all letters in the alphabet, you love to give Miller milkbone cookies, you love to chase him around the house and backyard and squeal when he licks you in the face, you LOVE playing in the dirt and getting it all over you, you adore slides and swings, you love to help mommy whenever possible cleaning, cooking, and even sorting laundry, you tell us "night night" when we tuck you in, you can't live without your little teddy, you are addicted to holding your foam bath tub letters/letter magnets and will request them when they aren't around by saying "lettrs", when something falls from your carseat you remember where it fell so you can get it before getting out of the car, you love to wave and say "4 horsies" on the way to school, you've learned to hug and say la you to Ms Sue Sue before we leave school each evening, your favorite pal is still Kiaya, the little boy corner is a common place you visit lately but it works and you say "i'm sorry and I la you" to us when it is time for you to come out, you now have started to put your toys in timeout and we hear you mumble "say sorry and la you" to them, and lastly our love for you and your love for life captivates our hearts and your smile lights up our world. We are so proud of you big boy and cannot wait to see you grow as these months seem to fly by!
