SURPRISE BABY SHOWER!!

So I have to say, I always thought I was clever enough to pick up on hints or secrets but my family and Gordie sure had a BIG secret up their sleeve that they had been planning for quite sometime.

They had been planning a surprise baby shower for me for months and I had absolutely NO idea! It was such a wonderful, amazing thing they did for me and I will be forever grateful for everyone who helped make the shower so special.

It was all planned for Sunday, October 11th and my mom had coordinated a virtual shower. She sent out invitations to all our family and my friends with the sneaky thing to have all gifts sent to our friend's house out here in Ogden, Traci. She received all the gifts at her house so I wouldn't have them coming to the house and suspect anything.

That Sunday morning, Traci had asked if I wanted to go to breakfast and I was all for it as I just had mentioned to her the other day how we needed to get together for lunch or something. Well, Traci, me, and her baby Chloe ate brunch at Cracker Barrel. All the while, Gordie was running around like a maniac getting everything set up for the shower. He brought his computer upstairs and had the webcam set up so that we could "skype" to my parents house and we could see everyone there and they could see us! Needless to say, Traci lives in Ogden which is about 20 minutes away from us so Gordie had to go up to her house to get all the gifts she had wrapped to bring them to our house. He made it just in time and had them all set up in the living room waiting on us to come home.

We came home from Cracker Barrel and I still hadn't suspected anything. I told her I wanted to show her the nursery so she and Chloe came in and I was blown away! There were gifts galore and I turned the corner only to see all of my family and friends from home at MY house in SC all there to support us even though we are on the other side of the country! I was so excited that I almost cried but I held back. I just was so overwhelmed by the love our families and my friends share for us. I was so disappointed that I wasn't able to make it home over the summer to actually have a real shower so my mom did some major planning and had a wonderful virtual shower so that I didn't miss out on all the fun things with being pregnant. It is hard to be so far away from family and friends during such a special time in our lives and my mom sensed that I was disappointed that I wouldn't be able to share in some of the traditional things that you can enjoy during a pregnancy so she took the traditional shower and gave it a 2009 twist! I just LOVE technology!

We got sooo much stuff that got us really prepared for baby baker's arrival. We wouldn't have been able to have so much for him if it weren't for the love and support of everyone that came. I just had wished I was able to be there but we'll see all of you soon!

My mom, Aunt Kathy, & Aunt Sandy were so sweet to take pictures and start a scrapbook that my mom completed for me to document all the little things they had there from the food, cake, goodies, all the people that were there, etc. I will be forever grateful and blessed for my sweet mama! :) I love her so much!

Thanks to my brother & daddy for making the technical capabilities possible at my parents house in getting the webcam set up and the video streaming on their big screen TV so everyone could easily see us! Here are a few pictures of some of the things we got!
