What a week!

What a week it has been! We have been SO busy that there hasn't even been time for me to login to give y'all an update! I've just never been so pressed for time in my life! This past week has been a little difficult as I'm the only one at home during the evenings with Baker as Gordie is working swing shift so it's not as easy to just get on the computer and do what I need to do when he has been occupying my time in the evening.

Baker has been at his new daycare this week and absolutely LOVES it. He seems to really enjoy it and comes home totally exhausted (which I think is a good thing!). The ladies there seem to really enjoy him and he flashes them quite a lot of smiles during the day from what I hear. What can I say, we've raised quite a happy baby. We pay for him to attend 10 hours a day/50 hours a week. Of course, he doesn't spend 10 hours there so we don't utilize our entire 50 hours but it does allow me time on Fridays since I only work 2 hours usually to do some stuff I want to do before I pick him up. This past Friday was shopping! I desperately need jeans. I absolutely HATE shopping for jeans as it is such a chore. I went all over and it was so frustrating as I felt like I went in every store at the mall and nothing would fit! Talk about discouraging! I like the way my maternity jeans fit if ONLY they had a button closure!!! Well, I went home in a bad mood because I just couldn't find anything. Gordie promised me we'd find something and he'd take me to another mall on Saturday (today) to see if we could find something in a store up there and today we went up there I finally found 2 pairs at Express!! Thankfully, they were buy 1 get 1 50% off! I sure lucked out with that sale. Express isn't cheap but then again I found some jeans so that made me happy no matter how much they were! We also got Gordie some summer clothes. Aeropostale was having a crazy sale so we took full advantage!

St. Patrick's Day was pretty uneventful other than it being a "holiday" we didn't do anything spectacular to celebrate. We all wore our green so no pinches were received. I have pictures to upload!

Tonight was Parent's Night Out at the CDC so we took full advantage of that and had our first real evening out! We went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse and saw a movie called "She's out of My League". It was a really cute, funny movie! Parent's Night Out lasts from 5PM-9PM every 3rd Saturday of each month. We dropped him off right at 5 and called ahead at the restaurant so we wouldn't have to wait. We've gotten very good at planning ahead! :) Dinner took a little longer than usual so we got to the movie just in time. It's pointless to see the previews anyway. It was at the Ogden Megaplex and Gordie already had reserved our tickets so we just had to check in and head for the theater. Nice thing about that one is that you reserve your seats so you don't have to worry about getting crappy seats if you're late! The movie ended promptly at 830PM and we headed straight to pick him up. Thanks to the nice, long line at the gate we got there right on time! Of course he was all we could think about the entire time we were out but it was great to go out and be just us even if it just was for a few hours. :)

Tomorrow Gordie has to work unfortunately. Hopefully it is only for a few hours. So it will just be me and Baker! I'll probably take a good chunk of the day to clean and get laundry done. That seems to always be our Sunday routine! It's supposed to be 60 degrees so maybe when Gordie gets home we'll go on a family walk through the neighborhood! I have lots of pictures & videos to upload so I'll try to post those tomorrow. It's just so hard to find time to do it but I just need to make the time!

Baker will be 4 months on Monday. Time just flies. I don't know where it is going!!
  • His new thing is his hands. They are used for gumming and sucking these days. He would rather "chew" on them versus his paci lately.
  • He can roll! Well not completely over yet but he's definitely more mobile in turning his entire body. The only thing stopping him from rolling from his tummy to his back or vice versa is his arm. His arm gets in the way and he can't overcome it and isn't sure what to do so then he just gets fed up and cries.
  • He is up to eating 5 oz! He now is eating mostly formula since he gets it for "free" at daycare. I'd prefer not to give my breastmilk to them in case for some reason they warmed it and he isn't hungry (don't think I've ever seen that day but you never know) then they can only leave it out an hour and after that they'll throw it away. I can't see my breastmilk getting thrown away!! So we leave the breastmilk for drinking at home. Might as well utilize the free formula, right? :) He does fine switching between them with no problems so we are thankful!
  • He had his first boo boo today. :( Daddy was cutting his fingernails and he moved his finger and his skin got nicked and then we saw blood! Luckily it clotted and it didn't seem to bother him too bad. He did scream bloody murder and we did give him some Tylenol just in case it did start to hurt him but he seemed to be just fine! I almost had a heart attack because I couldn't stand to see him cry and actually see blood coming from his finger but I knew he would be just fine.
Well, it is time to put Baker to sleep! I'll update this again tomorrow with pictures & lots of them!!So be on the lookout soon! :)
