Lifestyle of the Picky Biter

*double fisting juice & milk already (Apr 9)

Here's a little rundown...

Sleeping - usually good but these night wakings where Baker screams bloody murder like he just had the worst nightmare ever has to stop! There's nothing worse than hearing that scream at 2AM. Thankfully, he rolls right over and goes back to sleep. He's still sleeping in his crib, thankfully. We aren't ready to move to any other sleeping arrangement quite yet until we are in our own house. So hopefully he won't decide to be brave and climb anytime soon.

Eating - Very picky. He used to eat everything under the sun and now his palate is a typical toddler. I feel like a bad mother but I make things and he just turns his head and shakes it saying no or waves his hands to launch the food in another direction or just plain as day picks up the food and tosses it overboard off his highchair tray. Gone are the days where he will eat anything and everything!

Diaper Changing - A complete nightmare. He wiggles, crawls, or walks away either diaperless, with half of a dirty one on and a mess to clean up on the floor or with half of a clean one on. I am in no way a pro at changing him while standing up either. I guess that comes in time but phew! He wears me out! I tested every toy and trick up my sleeve to get him to lie still. The ONLY new method that has worked is to have THIS over him to entertain him. If you look at it then you'll see how I manage to have that go over his tummy and he can play while I'm on the other end. We'll see how long that lasts. **kudos and many thanks to Brittan, Justin, & Madi for this toy. Baker has seriously gotten his use out of it in sooo many ways.

Personality - Devilish, Independent, and Sweet. He loves to do things you tell him not to, he'd prefer to do everything himself and believe me he lets you know by swatting your hand away, and we all love those moments when he crawls or walks up to your lap and just lays his head down to snuggle.

Things that get him in trouble - Biting and cabinets. We have an instigator on our hands and it seems he gets bit and bites other kids at daycare. Here I thought we had the innocent child that was constantly getting picked on by other kids by them pulling his hair and biting him...WRONG. Baker has only attempted to bite another child at daycare that i know of since they told me but on a few occasions he got me and all those little teeth hurt especially since little ones don't understand how hard they are biting! I quickly let him know it hurt and then ignore him hopefully so he would get the picture that it doesn't get him attention. Boys will be boys but we have to break this bad habit and quickly! We have an explorer on our hands. If you don't have a lock on it, he's bound to get into it. Watch your cabinets ladies, this boy is on the hunt for your nearest pan, measuring cup, or box of cereal.

Interesting fact - Baker now goes down the stairs. He has gone up them for quite sometime but now will climb down them backwards! He will dance on command to the sound of any hip song being played. He even will dance in the tub, sitting down of course!

No matter him being picky, independent, or even a naughty boy at times...we still can't imagine what our lives were like without him. He has changed it in so many ways and all for the better. Gordie and I are better on the inside and out because of our son. His smile can make the longest or most stressful day at work just disappear. He's simply amazing...

We love you Baker Liam!
