That's right, I'm currently in Chicago! I haven't ever been so I was really excited when my work told me that I'd be attending training in Chicago back in February. However, back then August seemed SO far away. I can't believe it's finally here!
I took a shuttle to Charlotte and it actually was really nice! I am a typical girl and always get emotional whenever I have to fly and leave my family behind so not having Gordie and Baker drop me off made it so much easier on me. I'm proud of myself as I didn't shed any tears! Hey, that's a big step for me for those of you that know me well! They will be my knight and shining armors though as they both will be picking me up on Friday evening. I can't wait!! I miss them so much.
My flight was decent as it was on time so that was nice! I never have flown US Airways and let me tell you I don't think I'll do it again. They barely give you ANY leg room! I swear it was the smallest space I've ever been in on any plane. They even advertised a credit card they had that gave you all these flyer miles. It was so strange to see the flight attendants walk the aisle trying to give out credit card applications! Crazy if you ask me! I sat next to two extremely talkative people. Thankfully they kept the conversations to themselves but they were pretty annoying. I tried to sleep some because I didn't sleep well the night before but I couldn't ever get comfortable. I finally arrived and got the shuttle to my hotel. I'm on the magnificant mile and I have to say this city is slammed with people and is very go go go just like I remembered in NYC. I assume this is because I am staying on quite possibly the most amazing shopping street EVER. I ventured out to the shops after I got settled and it didn't last long 1. I didn't pack well as I forgot my flip flops or any other comfortable shoes 2. I started to feel very sick. I don't know what has come over me but I started to feel really achy and tired. When I got back to my room I quickly got in the bath tub but was shivering when I got out. I don't run fevers and I am bummed! You will never see me walk in the door of H&M and literally walk right back out. I felt that bad!! H&M is one of my favorite stores...hopefully I feel better tomorrow so I can venture back out.
I ordered room service since I didn't feel like going back out. Good ole cheeseburger and fries. I needed some comfort food after feeling blah. However, when I bit into the burger I soon realized that it wasn't well done! Ahhhhh!!! Don't you hate that? I can't stand burgers that have ANY pink in them. I got another one and did some work to catch up on that I missed throughout the day and then realized that I was seeing FIREWORKS from my window! Pretty neat!! I'm thinking they are from the Navy Pier. I'll find out more tomorrow. My class is from 8-4PM tomorrow so here's to some good training!
I do agree that Chicago is the windy city. Winds were at about 25 mph tonight. I don't recommend wearing lip gloss in this city as your hair will randomly stick to your face! :)

Skyping with my boys while I was away

The view from my hotel window (That's the Navy Pier!)

The pretty awesome touch screen computer that basically was a one stop shop in helping you find food, shops, local attractions, room service, etc. It was so neat!

My room! This picture doesn't do it justice. It was very nice!
