Tot Trade & POTTY!

My mom and I went to the Tot Trade this morning! If you don't know what that is then you are really missing out! We found some really cute jeans/pants for Baker this Fall/Winter and I found a super cute bag now that Baker is a little older and less needy for a huge baby diaper bag that I've been carrying around. I am now able to downsize - woohoo! I'll take a picture of it but I got the bag for a whopping $2!! It was 60% off today. My mom got Baker a few books too! We definitely will be going again when it comes around in March. So should you!

We then made a stop at Sam's Club. My mom wanted to get a few things including this AWESOME potty for Baker.

His pediatrician said not to start potty training until he was 2 but we figured we'd just get it to see if he would get comfortable with it being around, sitting on it for fun, etc. We brought it home and Baker was very intrigued by it. It makes a car "vroooom" noise when you push the handle simulating it flushing and he really loved it. I think he thought it was a new toy at first. No more than 2 hours of us being at home, Baker started to "grunt". He is very good about letting you know when he goes to the potty. Grunting means #2 and holding himself down there means #1. When he started to grunt I immediately told him "Hey Baker, let's go get on your potty". He took off and I helped him get situated and he sat there like he knew exactly what to do. I heard a few "toots" and thought it was just air passing but when he got up we had success!! He went BOTH #1 & #2 in his potty on his first try!!! My parents and I were thrilled and really surprised! Who knew we had such a talented, smart boy to get it on the first try! We aren't going to push potty training really hard quite yet. He seems to grasp the concept but we're going to go very slow. He doesn't move up into the 2 year old classroom until December and that's the room where they will help with potty training so I don't want to confuse him. Either way, Daddy, Mommy, Nana, and Poppy are all so proud of you Baker! I'm going to have to call his Gamma & Gampa to let them know the good news! Today, September 17th is milestone day for the baby book!

Let's hope the Gamecocks can continue this fine day and put a W in the record books tonight!
