New Things - almost 3 months!

Woohoo!!!! We successfully completed our first full week back at work and daycare! Thank goodness we survived it and hallelujah for the weekend!! I think we are all ready for a day of rest and relaxation. While this week was a little stressful at times to say the least, overall it went by fairly quick and pretty well. Baker really seems to like daycare as he is always all smiles when I drop him off & when Gordie picks him up. He still is only eating twice a day there which isn't his usual every 3 hours but he seems to be doing fine and isn't losing any weight yet. However, I am going to see how he does this weekend. He might just cope with being away from us by sleeping more and we did up his usual 4 oz to 4.5oz so that might be another factor that it is holding him over more. However, I am confident that he won't let himself go hungry. :) His lungs work perfectly.

Today I got to drop him off and pick him up so that was fun! I got to see what he looks like all wrapped up in his swaddle blanket in his crib. Gordie always says he looks like quite the cute glow worm and I confirmed today that he does!! I'll have to get a picture next week. He just looked so peaceful sleeping in his little crib. I didn't open up the gate to get him but simply said "Baker, Mama is here to take you home. Are you ready to go home?" He slowly opened his eyes, once they adjusted they got really big, and then he grinned and closed them back. He was a zombie because as I think I woke him up from a deep, deep sleep! I got him in the carseat and he was back asleep in no time! It was so rewarding going and picking him up. I think Gordie has the best part of the deal always picking him up!! I always get the lousy end of the deal having to drop off and leave him every morning. What's up with that? :) just kidding.

Well, new things Baker is doing as of late:
  • Still eating his hands at any moment he gets
  • He still loves his paci. Seems like he always has to have something in his mouth whether that's his hands or paci. What's cute is when he holds his hands in front of his mouth and his paci falls out--he uses his hands which are conveniently right there to push it back in! It's so funny.
  • He isn't rolling over yet but I'm sure that is just about to start as he is really picking up his feet and head when he's on his tummy.
  • He is realizing there are other things out there as he is playing with his toys in the play gym now. I have a video to upload so watch that soon!
  • He can sit up on your lap with finger assistance. It is almost ridiculous how capable he is of holding himself up. He still needs support but he is sooo strong!
  • He is eating 4.5 oz and I am still breastfeeding him. My previous concern of not being able to keep up with him has diminished. I have a good stock in the freezer and several in the fridge. I've had to date the ones in the fridge to ensure they don't stay in there too long! I'd say breastfeeding or pumping has been a success!!
  • He is still interlocking his hands together. A girl at work compared the one picture I have below to his hands looking like he was praying! So sweet.
  • He is really learning to be more vocal and I don't mean crying. He is cooing a lot more now and responding to us. Peek-a-boo is a big hit as he loves that game. We usually get the most smiles out of him right when I get home from work and he is just so happy to see me or when we do diaper changes. He used to scream and hate diaper changes but these days, he is so content, happy, and smiling!

Rubbing his eyes - tired boy
praying hands
Proof that he loves to eat his hands!
Tummy time - not so happy.

Look what I can do!
My little blueberry smiling...
blue/grayish eyes!

Here's a video of Baker today before his 4pm feeding. I was so angry!! I had the best video - tons of smiles and laughs and my camera failed me! I hit the button to stop recording and it said it had to force close and it didn't save my wonderful video! I took another one but needless to say it wasn't as good as the one I lost. BOO!! Sometimes I hate technology!!
