This week, Baker has been playing baseball with Daddy every evening. As you recall, it all started on Sunday when he remembered he had a baseball & bat and he HAD to play with it when we got home from grocery shopping. It then turned into a slight addiction where he has to play everyday and even sleep with his ball & bat. (I must get a picture of this). He realize he is only 2 (almost 3) but he makes contact with the ball when Gordie throws it on numerous occasions. It is really pretty awesome to see with him being so young. I mean even some kids playing t-ball don't have this hand/eye coordination! I do believe he'll definitely progress in any sport he wants to play and will want to practice...practice...practice!
Playing every evening after work/school is getting a little difficult since daylight hours are getting harder to come by with DST ending soon. I just love that he is getting into sports and I know Gordie is thrilled too! Baker loves and lives off being praised and he really enjoys hitting the ball and us telling him how great of a job he did while he grins from ear to ear. If he misses, he says "Oops my fault" or if Daddy throws the ball a little off and he misses and Gordie says "Sorry Baker, my fault" Baker will follow up with "That's okay Daddy!" :) He's such a sweet boy.
If you look closely the edge of the blue bat is in the bottom right hand corner. He had to have it next to him while he watched a movie. |
Here's two short clips of him smacking a ball inside the house. Yes, we all know bats and balls are not for indoors but who can deny this sweet boy from playing when its dark outside? I guess whenever a picture gets broken then we'll have to reassess the idea of playing ball inside. *please excuse the messy room*
