A case of...

Conjunctivitis. Yes, something that has such a long official name is so ugh and has put a damper on our weekend.

So maybe it was a curse that we went to a well visit last night at the Dr. office and turned right back around for a sick visit today? Ohhhh I despise getting calls and seeing the CDC's number on my phone. It usually means a courtesy call for something or that I need to pick him up. I was in the middle of grocery shopping at the Commissary when I got "the" call. Baker had green discharge coming out of both his eyes and I had to pick him up. Wonderful! What a great way to kick start our weekend! We picked him up to see how bad it was and there was just nasty goop all in both of his eyes. You can clean it up with a tissue but it would just show right back up 5 minutes later. I got him an appointment at Wee Care this evening and it was confirmed, he has conjunctivitis and luckily it is in its early stage even though he is having a terrible amount of goop draining. We were given Tobramycin Ophthalmic Solution (eye drops) to put in his eyes two drops three times a day. Let me tell you, getting the drops in his eyes are no fun. I don't know if they burn but he holds his eyelids tighter than a lid on a jar! We have to pry them open to get anything in! It's quite the sight, I'm sure. So we started our weekend off with a bang but since we caught it early I'm hoping it leaves as quick as it came.

Who's ready to see the Gamecocks play tomorrow morning!!?? Well, it is a noon game so it will be a breakfast game for us starting here at 10AM. Baker (goopy eyes and all) and I will be eagerly watching in front of the TV wishing Gordie were home with us to see it! I know he is still so angry over missing the game tomorrow. I'm trying not to talk about it much so he doesn't get upset.

Happy News - Gordie's cousin Katie Tracy had baby #2 today - Her name is Kate. Happy Birthday Baby Kate! I told her that she would always be able to tell Kate that she was always on time not messing up and having her mama go into labor during the game. I'd say she was pretty on point coming the day before so everyone could watch in their nice hospital room! Congratulations Tracy Family, we love you!
