We have had a great labor day weekend and we all are a little sad to think our long weekend is almost over! We did a lot this weekend so here's a recap...
Saturday - pure relaxation! we slept in until 9:30AM. Thank you Baker for your awesome sleeping habits! Then we ran some errands and then just relaxed! We went over to one of Gordie's coworkers house in the evening after a run to Krispy Kreme for a donut! Yumm! Only downer that night is we pulled into Krispy Kreme and the "hot" sign was on. Anyone knows that means you get a free glazed donut! We got in the drive through line and the "hot" sign was turned off. We didn't get a free donut - BOO! We mentioned it when we ordered but the teenager's response was "well we still have hot donuts!" Ohhhh teenagers. If it were me that was working, I would have been like yeah we just turned it off but here's your free ones anyway. Who really cares about 2 glazed donuts anyway? I suppose that's just OUR luck. One day our luck will turn around but I have a feeling that won't be until Gordie is out of the military.
Sunday - We continued to take it easy and slept in once again- 9:30AM. We really needed to get to church but Gordie's allergies were really bothering him. *he's doing OK now*. I watched a church service on TV. It is a Baptist Church in town but it seemed more Southern Baptist with the louder talking, chanting, and Amens after some phrases. The sermon still had a really good message. We got showers and then headed to Salt Lake City! First stop in Bountiful was to Five Guys Burgers and Fries! Baker slept through lunch...who can sleep in a place with such great aroma!? :) With full bellies, we continued to head South since it was such a nice day out and made our way to the Gateway Mall. The Gateway is a big outdoor shopping center that is super nice! Salt Lake is really undergoing some construction. I think it's probably the only city that has so much construction in these rough economic times. They are working on a new 20 acre downtown revitalization project called "City Creek" which is an urban mixed use development that will be complete in 2012. We won't get to see it fully complete - we'll be out of UT by 2012 *hallelujah!* If you look at the link, it will be a really awesome place to shop, sight see, and just walk around! For current construction photos, click here. We shopped around at the Gateway Mall for a bit and got Baker some new jeans and a few really cute printed thermal shirts for the winter that were on sale! Our only other purchase of the day was an $8 kids cookbook for when Baker gets a little older that had some really cute meal ideas along with tasty snacks and desserts! I can't wait to try them out. *Thank you gift card from my co-worker from Christmas 2009* - sad I know that I haven't used my giftcard until now but I find it hard sometimes to buy things at Barnes and Noble. I still have some $ on it so maybe we'll get Baker some more books in the near future. :) We had a fun visit to the food court where daddy ate an ice cream cone for dessert and I fed Baker a late lunch. Of course we had a fun blow out diaper afterward that I was NOT about to go in the nasty public restrooms and change him. Those things just disgust me. I mean I hate to go in the bathrooms myself yet lie him down on something in there. So we changed him in his stroller in a nook of the Gateway! I'm sure we got some looks but hey you gotta do what you gotta do and at least this way I know he isn't touching some NASTY changing table. Oh the things you :)
Monday - Happy Labor Day! We slept in once again until 9:45AM. Baker had his morning bottle and we got up and got dressed and headed for Hobby Lobby. Gordie is making a model of his greenhouse design and Baker and I went along for the ride and to get lunch! We made a pit stop by Chickfila on the way home and Baker had his first taste of their chicken. He loved it but then again who doesn't? :) Now we are home, Baker is napping and we are hanging out for the remainder of the afternoon. We are going to a neighbors house this evening for a little cookout. Gordie has perfected his "raw fries" and we are going to make some to take over with us. Now if only he could work on a wing sauce then we would have the perfect gameday meal for next weekend...oh that's right our game will be on at 10AM on Saturday. Boo! Looks like I'll be making a brunch instead! Here's to a speedy work week - *cross your fingers!!*

Good Morning! - Yes, Baker is in long sleeves, socks, and courdaroy pants for the day. High in UT today of 67 and it was in the 40s last night! It is also still really chilly out this morning so I suppose Fall is on its way.
