Kids Paint is an app on my phone. Baker loves to draw on it and this keeps him entertained at any given moment. (i.e. waiting at the dr. office). Baker had his 15M well visit on March 2nd. He is in the 50-75% for his weight, height, and head circumference! We have one proportionate little boy and apparently he is right on track with his development both mentally and physically. The only thing he isn't doing yet is walking on his own. However, that will be the next big thing. We can tell he wants to walk so bad so it will only be a matter of time!
25 lbs 3 oz
31 in tall
They actually had flavored tongue depressors but he hated the taste. According to the doctor, all kids love them. My dad and I told her that the reason he hated it was because she gave him an orange one. He definitely knows orange is a yucky color! ha! **I always said they should come up with something better than those nasty wood ones so I guess some genius patented my idea - darn!
He had to get 3 shots and he was none too pleased but was over them in less than 3 minutes. Thanks to this awesome sugar free blue raspberry lollipop the nurse gave him!
Shots stink but this makes up for it! After the shots, I couldn't see him screaming from being sore and tired and then end up crying his eyes out when he realized I was leaving him at daycare. Instead, he spent the rest of the day relaxing and napping at home with Poppy! He was in a super good mood that evening. I'm convinced he just adored his day at home with Poppy! :)
Here are some 15M milestones:
- Took his first real steps (like one or two) by himself on 2/23/11
- Is more independent in wanting to feed himself with his hands. He hasn't mastered using utensils yet. That will come soon.

Here's an example! - He still LOVES cows milk
- He had his first taste of bacon and loved it. (3/5/11)
- He had his first "taste" of pizza on Superbowl Sunday but that wasn't much of anything. He had his first REAL serving of Hungry Howies pizza on 3/4/11 and he LOVED it. I ate a decent amount of pizza when I was pregnant so this was not a surprise.
- He LOVES, LOVES, LOVES blueberries. I've never seen him eat a food so fast like them!
- He is becoming a pickier eater and being more demanding vocally with his signature high pitch squeal. He doesn't want you to feed him pureed food anymore so those extra helpings of baby food I was trying to use are a no go. If you give him something and he doesn't want it he will spit it out and throw it "overboard" over his highchair onto the floor. If he knows he doesn't want it then he throws it over immediately. He will eat box macaroni and cheese but won't touch homemade! He is not a fan of real peas either. However, he does LOVE his bread.
- His first real phrase is aside from dada, mama, baba is "Uh Ohhhhhhhhhhh". He really accentuates the O sound when he does it too. He also knows that phrase follows an action of dropping something you didn't mean to. (i.e. sippy cup from high chair). We are working on other words right now. We are also working on him identifying body parts. He seems none too interested right now.
- He will drop uncooked macaroni pieces into a small box and clap afterward (working on fine motor skills)
- His favorite night night toys are his fleece blanket, glowhorse (kinda like a glowworm but it is a seahorse), Curious George and his Sock Monkey. Yes, they all sleep with him in his crib at night.
- He loves to walk with his lion walker. He also likes to ride him as well as take rides in his new cozy coupe. He ADORES it. I've never seen him light up so much when I tell him he's going for a ride and we walk over towards it! Lately he has been going from a sitting position on my lap to standing up by himself. He sometimes still does the one leg up crawl. However, his crawling is definitely getting more vertical lately so we do anticipate walking on his own soon. He will walk if you hold one of his hands but then will get tired and drop down to crawl away quickly.
- He's still sleeping great. Aside from walking up at 130AM and crying and quickly falling back to sleep. I don't usually get up unless he doesn't stop. His cry usually lasts a few minutes and then he's back to sleep. He sleeps around 10-11 hours a night.
- He is NOT a morning person. I guess he took after Gordie on that. He hates when I wake him in the mornings. I have to have his milk ready for him otherwise he is none too pleased with me!
- His favorite show is still Caillou. Although he seriously loves anything on the Sprout PBS channel. (i.e. Angelina Ballerina, Driver Dan, Chica & Friends, Pajanimals, etc.)
- When he hears a train,...he immediately perks up, looks around, gets the O face, and looks for Thomas. You can say, Baker...Where is Thomas...Do you hear him? He then says oooooo and looks around and gets the most surprised look on his face that Thomas is actually somewhere near here. It's priceless.
- We use the iPad to entertain him at restaurants so we all have a slightly more peaceful dinner. Sometimes we get glares but usually it is nice comments of I wish we had that when we had ours! I don't feel guilty.
- Wearing 18M-24M clothes. Mostly 18M tops and 12-18M pants. Shoe size 5.5.
- He loves to press buttons (i.e. on your shirt, on the tv, on the remote)

He's been changing the input on my parents TV lately. - He is adjusting to life back at daycare; however, he knows how to torture my heart when he screams into a loud cry and throws his arms up and says "MAMA!!!" Oh it pains me but I work so we have things for our family. Oh how I wish I could stay home with him all day, everyday. I took those few months I had with him for granted! As always, you want what you can't have!
- He got his first ear infection since he's had tubes -Feb 18th. The Dr. at his 15M well visit doesn't think it is anything to be worried about yet until he starts having multiple ones again. We aren't sure if the tube is in place properly or not in his one ear. Ugh. Let's hope it is. He was on Augmentin for 10 days. I'm glad that is over. He used to take medicine so easily but now it is hard to fight him to get it in his mouth. He clamps his teeth down and won't let me get it in! Little stinker!
- Definitely showing his vocal side lately - sometimes appreciated and other times his little girl squeal is not welcome (i.e. at a restaurant!)
- He loves to play in the kitchen or in the living room with his toys. Here's a video of him just being him!
