We then ran a few errands to Target and Petsmart and then headed to Carolina Wings for a fun family dinner out. We shared wings and chips of course. Baker still loves chicken and I could barely keep up with him. Every time I pulled some chicken for him and thought i was safe to eat some myself then he would start asking for more. I'm glad he hasn't lost his taste for chicken since it is protein. He still is pretty picky and sometimes I'm not sure whether he wants to feed himself or if he wants help. I think most of the time it depends on his mood but at times he wants help and others he would scream to let him do it himself.
Saturday morning we headed to Lexington Kid's Day for a little fun and education at Virginia Hylton Park in Lexington. Since Gordie had to work ALL day (8:30-7/close), Baker, me, my mom and dad headed to the festival. The weather was perfect in the 70s in the morning and lower 80s in the afternoon. We were there for 2 hours and the park was absolutely beautiful. We hadn't ever been there and it was so nice! There were lots of trails shaded by trees and a few playgrounds suitable for various age groups. There was even an amphitheater for shows that a church group was using to sing. We had lots of food samples: waffles from Waffle House, fried okra from Lizard's Thicket, bagel from Brueggers Bagels, pizza from Domino's, fat free fudgy bar from Blue Bell, and lots more! Baker thoroughly enjoyed his waffle, cookie, sno cone, and some fudge bar. He also enjoyed swinging on the swing (watch video) and the best of all - people watching! He even got his face painted! The poor girl had to do it quickly since he wasn't too enthused but he had a football and USC written on his cheek that morning. Baker got a picture with Cocky too! The Texas Roadhouse Armadillo was there and he shook Baker's hand and gave him a token for a free kid's meal at our next visit. How did he know that is one of our favorite restaurants!? :) We'll definitely be using that token soon. Baker loves their mac & cheese. After the festival we headed to Gordie's work to surprise him and say hello!
Sunday was a relaxing day spent at Tim's (Uncle Tim to Baker) pool! Baker loved the water just as much as he did last May when we came home. (watch video)Except this time he was a lot more into it. He stood and played in the fountains of water and almost went face first into them a few times which made him fall back on his behind in the chilly water! He was a trooper though and shed no tears. We blew up his float and took him around in the water a bit. He was kicking his legs in the water and showing all sorts of effort in wanting to move around in the water. I think we'll have to get him into some toddler swimming lessons or something. This boy loves the water. We spent the afternoon by the pool and then went to a nearby pizzeria for dinner. The pizza was great and the sweet tea was even better! I love sweet tea and when I mean love I mean LOVE. I might be...scratch that...I am addicted! It feels so good to be back in the South where people know tea means sweet tea and it actually tastes like it has been brewed and not just some nasty instant tea that is claimed to be "sweet tea".

Loving the water

Relaxing after the pool watching Sprout.
Here's a video from Sunday evening. Baker must be picking up his spinning from daycare. He just started doing this at home and he does it even more if he knows his whirrlies are entertaining you! Notice in the video he stops to give Gordie a piece of paper from the couch. These days he has started picking up things around the house to give to you (letters, papers, toys, clothes, etc.) which is quite helpful when you are trying to get things picked up!
As always, weekends go by so fast! I wish weekdays at work went by as fast. This Wednesday is the house inspection. Hopefully there will be no big issues! We are close to having a final contract and getting more things lined up so keep your fingers crossed! We live for our weekends and right now we can't wait until the next one. Who is ready for Mother's Day? If not, you better visit Gordie's store to pick something up for your mother or MIL. :)
Hope you guys have a great week!
