Happy Memorial Day!

Here's our salute to the military this Memorial Day! We thank our military for all they do!

We are partial to the Air Force, of course!

It was a 3 day weekend for us...except for Gordie (boo!). So we had a great, relaxing weekend. We did a little of everything and just like every other long weekend...it goes by too fast!

Sunday

We went to Lowe's and got a rug for our hopefully new house!! Then we stopped at Arby's for a quick lunch before heading to the zoo! This was Baker's 2nd time sitting in a booster seat. They didn't have a high chair. He did SO good this time though (much better than the first). You could tell he was so proud to be sitting NEXT to daddy!

If you are wondering about the glasses, well they were a kids meal treat! He squealed and had his mouth wide open when he saw he "got" something. So cute. He immediately wanted me to open them and help him put them on.

Then we met some of Gordie's friends from HS and college at the zoo with their kids and had a wonderful time! Baker thoroughly enjoyed the zoo this year. Last time he went it was exactly a year ago when he was 6 months old. Can you believe it? Here's a comparison shot of him then and now...

And....now!

Such a big difference!! He was so vocal squealing and talking to all the animals. His favorite was still the aquarium as he still LOVES all fish and also the golden lion tamarins! He loved watching them quickly jump and run around. I do remember him letting out a good belly laugh watching the toucan fly from side to side in his cage.

We then met my parents out at the pool and enjoyed swimming for a bit after being in the HOT sun for hours. It was a refreshing way to cool and wind down. This was Baker's 2nd time being at the pool this year. He continues to enjoy it more and more. Last time he started to kick his legs but this time he actually made his float move himself by kicking!!

It is Memorial Day and since Gordie had to work, Baker and I have just been hanging out! We took Gordie lunch and ate some Chick-fil-a with him in the back. We left there and drove by our new house (hopefully this week!!) and then came home. My mom should be getting home soon and then we'll be hitting up the pool again and having a cookout this evening.
