Grandma's Visit & Hump Day

So Grandma left for home yesterday morning. I dropped her off at the airport in the morning and she was home by the early evening, safe and sound. She even ate at Lizards Thicket for dinner. That rascal! :) We were so jealous!! We had a wonderful visit with my mom and we miss her already but we can't wait to see her again.

Today is hump day - Wednesday. Thankful we are another day closer to the weekend at least. Feels like we just had a weekend but I am SO ready for another one. Nothing on the agenda this weekend but relaxation and probably some laundry.

We scheduled Baker's consultation with the Pediatric ENT on Monday at 9AM so I'll let you know how that goes. Tubes is in his future :( Poor guy but we'll see as it should mend his recurring ear infection problem.

I am behind on my picture posting of the "boo". He is growing SO fast! We went on a walk last night and I just realized how big he is getting as his legs are now hanging down past the tray in the stroller, can you believe it? We took some really cute pictures while my mom was here the last few days while she was here and I posted them below. Baker still isn't showing any want to crawl but he shows all the want to walk. He'd rather do that than anything else. Matter a fact he walked from our bedroom to his bedroom/crib last night with our help of course holding daddy's fingers. Usually he gets tired after about 15 steps so that was just about right. We are so proud of him!!

Oh, mom he still loves his stack of rings! He still laughs at them but nothing like the first time when you opened it. He played with it last night for about 45 minutes straight so thank you!! :)

He's still drinking 7oz formula and eating all sorts of baby foods. Still hates meats. We've tried beef, chicken, and chicken noodle. Neither which he was fond of at all. He loves his fruits, veggies, oatmeals, etc. We'll see. As Clary pointed out, who wants a steak shake anyway? LOL Hopefully he'll like the real thing when he gets old enough to eat it.

Sunday (8/1/10) evening sunset
Capping off an evening with Grammy! I'd say he loved it. He spent some 1 on 1 quality time with Grammy while Gordie and I went out to a surprise birthday party for Natalie (a friend at work) and then we went out to Boondocks Fun Center and played a round of putt putt and some arcade games. It definitely was a great evening out for us - we thoroughly enjoyed it! Thanks Grammy!
Saturday (7/31/10) we went shopping and got Baker his first pair of Nike shoes & sandals. We made a point to go to Dillards in Ogden since they are the only place that is a Stride Rite facility. Needless to say, that really meant nothing because the 2 ladies working there knew absolutely nothing and the one couldn't even measure Baker right. First off she said "what do you need?" Who walks up to a customer and says that?? My mom said well for starters some help in measuring and she goes oh ok well measuring what? Um well what do you think, duh his feet! So this was just the start of it all as it was just downhill from there. My mom and I had to keep questioning her as she put his left heel on the "right heel goes here" and then kept insisting that his shoe size was in between 12 and 13. My statement after that was if he is a 12/13 then why are all infant shoe sizes 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. She still didn't get it. I put the measuring mechanism on his foot and showed her again and she goes oh no I said he was in between a 2 and 3. I said HA! RIGHT. Maybe that is what you meant to say but you didn't. Then she gets the shoes and says so is that it, you done? LOL I'm like I have no clue if these shoes are going to work and in my head thinking of a polite way to say shut up and leave us alone until we figure out if these shoes are "the ones" and then I'll tell you if we are DONE! Oh stupid Utahns. I could have measured him myself better and not lost a month off my life with the stress she caused. I think next time I'll skip that Stride Rite all together.
Proud boy in his new Nike shoes
Ready for bed!
This is his chicken face.
