Happy Birthday Daddy!

Baker had a white birthday and so is my daddy! It snowed this past Monday and now is snowing again. Mother Nature decided she wanted to wish them a happy birthday Utah style. Today we are doing a little packing but were hoping to head down to SLC to see the Lights at Temple Square. However, if this snow keeps up we'll probably go on Wednesday night (our last night in Utah). We haven't ever been since we moved here so no better way to celebrate Christmas season beginning and our moving back home to SC than downtown SLC and beautiful lights! Tuesday is our last day in our house in Layton. We have our final walk through at 4PM then we'll be staying at the LaQuinta in Layton the night of the 30th and 1st. Gordie has his first cavity filling on the morning of the 2nd and then we'll be pulling out of Utah for good. But we have a lot to do between now and Tuesday's walk through and that includes celebrating my Daddy's birthday.

Turns out the snow was a little bit more than expected so we didn't get to make our trip down to SLC to see the lights. We are planning to do that Tuesday or Wednesday evening. Daddy's day started out helping get Baker fed and ready and then we packed a bit. We got ready and headed out to lunch to celebrate. We drove down to Centerville to let Dad have his first experience at an In and Out Burger. If you haven't been, they have the best cheeseburgers and french fries. They are only out west (CA, AZ, UT, NV) so if you ever make it out this way, definitely pay them a visit.

We then ventured back through the snow to Coldstone and picked up the birthday boy's ice cream cake! What a better way to celebrate a birthday in true utah fashion - a cold, icy cake. :) We then took down the rest of the beds and crib. Most of our packing is complete other than picking up some last minute things and getting them into a box! *phew...it has been a busy last few days getting things packed up and cleaned. My hands have really taken a beating! We then headed to dinner and decided to stay close to home since it was still snowing pretty good so we went to Iggy's Sports Grill. The boys got to watch their football on the big screen and they have lots of menu items to choose from (almost too many if you ask me! The menu is like 5 pages long). Dinner was delicious! Dad got the chicken tenders he remembered from before with mashed potatoes, I got teriyaki chicken, and Gordie got a BBQ sandwich. Baker had bits and pieces of my dad's chicken, some of my veggies, and some Gerber graduate puffs. Oh and we can't forget the pear juice - that's his favorite juice these days! He sure was hungry and this was all after eating a bottle!

Ice cream cake before candles.

Ice cream cake after candles - almost looks on fire! Little did I know my $1 candles I bought @ Target because they were cheap were the trick, relighting ones. I made a joke that I didn't get those and apparently I did! Ha!
:)

Overall, my daddy/Baker's poppy had a great birthday - Utah style complete with snow!
