We are expected to get more snow until sometime Wednesday. That means Baker will have a white first birthday!! We said we hoped to have one more snowstorm before we left so I guess this is it!
Yes, my little baby's first birthday is tomorrow. Can you believe it? I know I've said it every month but this year has really gone by so fast. I think it is because we have been SO busy beyond just the two of us when we thought our lives were hectic. Taking care of another little human takes a lot of time and love and in between all the daycare trips, getting up earlier, bottle making/feedings, and bath time...we really lose track of our days! Weeks that used to drag on seem to fly by. When you are keeping track of the weeks with milestones your baby does, you know you are living the mommy/daddy life!
The weekend he was born is still so fresh in my memory as I'm sure it always will be. We had eaten at Texas Roadhouse on Saturday night (imagine that? ha!) and the waitress dropped a root beer right at our table (I think some of it got on my jeans) that was supposed to go to the table next to us. Can we say that this should have been a sign of what was to come? :) Then that night I cleaned like crazy. I didn't really ever get into a cleaning frenzy when I was pregnant. I was always prepared thinking whenever I hit that cleaning urge that labor was probably soon to follow since that's what everyone had told me. So when I started cleaning that night, I wasn't sure if it was a sign of labor coming or me just getting the house ready for both our parents who were coming soon. I remember we went to bed extremely late (for us!) around 12:30AM. Then I was up at 3:15AM for the usual bathroom trip and I thought this one was just like all the others. WRONG! I got back in the bed and knew something was different. I stumbled back into the bathroom and turned on the light and realized my water broke! The rest is history and here we are with the most adorable, loving, happy go lucky, always smiling and laughing big boy on our hands. I just don't know what we'd do without our little boo!
We had a pretty relaxing day at home doing laundry while the boys watched football. Our neighbors had us over to have thanksgiving dinner and spend an evening with them before we head out. They have 4 (3 girls and 1 boy) kids and tonight proved to us that we are in no way shape or form ready for that many kids! phew! They are tiring. :) They absolutely love Gordie and had him worn out when we left.
just call him mr. curious - he loves to stand and look out the door. It was really cold today so he licked the glass. yes, i know...completely disgusting but hey he didn't know the difference. :)

See the snow mama!!??

I forgot to mention, this afternoon we had thunder snow. Yes, it was lightening and thundering and snowing! The snow was more hail-like as it resembles dip n dots. Check out the pictures we got during the "storm".
See what I mean by dip n dots?
Tomorrow is quite a special day. We plan on hanging around the house, going out to dinner, celebrate with a cupcake, and make a pit stop by the store for Poppy to get him a special toy. I went out to Target today to get him 3 things for him to "open". He'll get his big present when we get home. I'll post pictures of his new toys tomorrow when he "opens" them. :)
I'll post lots of pictures tomorrow for the big day. Stay tuned!
