This past Wednesday was a day of getting things done. Gordie and I went on base with Baker to get his permissive leave approved. Luckily the Commander of his Squadron was working and we got the papers signed. We met up with Rob and Sam Pearl for lunch at Chili's to catch up and get together before we leave town. We celebrated Baker's birthday and Carleigh's upcoming birthday in December. It was so great to see them! We left there and headed over to Finance. When we pulled in the parking lot I had realized that I forgot my purse!! Who does that? I couldn't believe I actually left my purse something that I usually can't go anywhere without in the restaurant! Luckily the waitress gave it to the hostess and they had it up front for me. Thankfully nothing was missing from it either! Phew! The 2 appointments we had that should have only taken 45 minutes lasted 2 hours. As you can imagine, Baker was NOT pleased. He was doing great at first but when we were in a quiet building with no toys for that long it got to be a little too much for him. After the 2 hours of ridiculousness and the ID card guy doing this job wrong, we left with Gordie's ID card dates being wrong. Now we have to go back on Monday. Go figure! Can't anyone do their job right??

Thanksgiving this year was great! We all woke up around 8:30AM and watched the parade. Baker really liked seeing some of the big balloons, Sesame Street float, and of course Santa! We then got ready to head over to Natalie's house to celebrate with her family. Natalie is a friend of mine from work who I am going to miss dearly! We had a great time at her house and Baker had a ball! There were 4 kids there and although they were all bigger than him he LOVED them. We could tell he has been missing his social interaction with kids! He particularly loved one of Natalie's nephews, Chandler. We ate, socialized, ate some more, and ate desserts! The food was fantastic and it was just so wonderful to be around another family with our little family for Thanksgiving since we couldn't be back at home with all of ours. Baker came home and passed out on Gordie's leg while he was getting him changed into his pajamas. That's how tired he was from going and going and going.
