- He is still in Size 3 Huggies Little Mover diapers
- Still drinking Enfamil Premium Lipil formula, 8 oz about every 4 hours
- Wearing size 12 mo onesies, pants, and shirts. Some of his 9 mo stuff still fits so we are sort of in transition of wearing both for now.
- He will help you get him dressed. Meaning he'll stick his arms through the armholes and when you are taking off his shirts he will help pull them off. He doesn't like anything on his face so I think his assistance is a part of telling me to get that off his face!
- He is so strong. He is a solid boy who has the strength of a grown man at times. He will pull your glasses off in the blink of an eye or will pull a strand of hair faster than you can say ouch. He has pulled quite a few of mine to date and I'm sure it won't be my last.
- He loves to smile a lot and will do a "cheese" smile where you can see all of his teeth if you say "cheeeeeese" in a really high pitch voice.
- He loves to clap his hands AND his feet.
- He will kick his legs up and down hitting them on the floor when he gets excited about something.
- He uses his legs to spin himself around. We have counted as many as 10 rotations.
- He has perfected army low style crawling.
- If he thinks that Gordie is after him he will quickly crawl away from him.
- He is bridging up to more his hands and knees style of crawling and will start off that way but then reverts back to the army crawl since that gets him there faster.
- He has perfected getting into the sitting position from crawling.
- He is constantly pulling up on furniture, people, stairs, etc. anything that gets him into the standing position.
- Eating everything. He still loves his baby food but is also enjoying a plethora of table foods. He still is not a fan of eating spaghetti (Stage 3 baby food form). We haven't tried the real thing and will probably hold off on that until he is a little older. However, Baker despises the baby food form of it. I don't know if it is the meat flavor or the pasta chunks but he won't have more than 1 bite of it before he is shaking his head side to side and putting up his arms and crossing them like he is saying "no more, no more!".
- If he doesn't want to eat he'll push the ba ba away.
- He is talking away and not much of it makes sense but he can say mama, dada, nana, and baba. He does know who is mama and dada are as he will look at you and say the right word.
- He still loves to sleep in his crib and he would prefer to sleep in. What infant likes to sleep in until after 8/9AM?? He usually he sleeps about 11-12 hours a night. No night wake ups which we are still LOVING. One day earlier this week he woke up at 3AM and was just talking away to himself. I didn't go in to check on him as he can fall back asleep on his own which he did and slept until 7AM when it was time to get up.
- He thoroughly enjoys walking with assistance. (i.e. you holding his hands)
- He still thinks Miller and Freida are the most funny things that exist on this planet. All they have to do is walk in front of him and he'll burst out loud laughing.
- He takes shots like a champ.
- He will cry if you get hurt or act like you get hurt. He doesn't like it when anyone is upset meaning me or Gordie.
- In a room full of crying babies, you can count on him to be the only content, smiling baby. (This just happened last Thursday when I walked into his room to pick him up in the afternoon. Every single baby in his room was crying except for Baker. Miss Krista says he is never like the "choir" and always sits and watches everyone cry. I'm glad he doesn't chime in with the rest of them. When he saw me, his eyes just lit up more and he smiled really big and then crawled as fast as he could towards me.)
- He talks to his toys while he plays.
- We removed the bumpers of his crib this month as his interest was sparking in how he could use those to his benefit.
- I am now getting used to letting him have more "things" in his crib while he sleeps. He prefers a few blankets, Elmo, and a pacifier while he sleeps.
- He can stand up in his crib.
- He still LOVES Sesame Street every morning.
- We have a baby that is addicted to the television. Perhaps I will have to break this habit but he will stop what he is doing and look at the TV when he hears something that interests him. We were at Sam's Club recently and walking in they were playing the movie "Up". We haven't ever seen it but it really captivated Baker's attention. He couldn't take his eyes off that TV.
- He isn't quite sure of hoods on sweatshirts/jackets.
- Loves to wear his shoes
- He still "hoos" after each bite if he is eating something he really likes.
- First time eating Cheerios. He loves them.
- First pneumonia and hopefully his last. (9/27/2010)
- He is the pointer king. He loves to point at anything and everything. Whether it be other people, objects, your nose, up your nose, your tooth, your eye, your shirt button, or just about anything. I try to say the name of what he points at so he can make the connection of what it is even if he doesn't understand it yet.
- He sticks his tongue out a lot. I think he is rubbing it on his gums or other teeth that have already come in but it is so funny to watch him.
Overall, he is learning so much at this age. I just cannot believe he will be 11 months in 13 days and 1 year old next month! I'm having a difficult time deciding what to do for his birthday. I'm thinking we'll do a very small celebration at home. I'm sure it will be cold and probably snowy like it was last year so I'll probably try to make him a fun cake and he'll unwrap a few presents and call it good. We'll have to plan a big birthday extravaganza for his 2nd birthday when we will be back in SC next year and all his family can be there. Woohoo!!!
