Another tooth makes 6!

Baker has his other lateral incisor (his left, our right) coming in!! The bottom of the tooth is poking through so this will make his 6th tooth so far! He hasn't really been his 100% self lately and maybe we can thank this tooth for that? Don't get me wrong, he has been happy as can be but certain things that were so easy before are a little more challenging and that might be because he is getting older and more mobile too. He would prefer to stand in his crib and hold onto the railing than lie down and go to sleep. He has woken up the past few nights around midnight semi crying but more or less moaning for a paci. We wait in bed for a minute or two to see if he will quiet down on his own and once we realize he isn't then we stumble quickly out of bed to get over to him so he doesn't wake up too much. He goes right back to sleep, thankfully. We have been trying to put him to bed earlier so now he prefers to wake up earlier since he is getting more sleep.

On another front, we really haven't found a sippy cup he loves or prefers to drink out of yet. I've tried 3 styles of 2 brands (Nuk & Nuby) but none have proven themselves to him at least not yet. He uses the regular tupperware sippy cups at daycare. They are the same sippy cups we used when we were little and I'm sure you remember what they look like. Ms. Gloria said Baker sometimes uses it as a toy to bang around but what baby doesn't do that? I'm sure he'll get better and better as time progresses but for now I think I'll probably order some of these instead of buying more random ones.
These are the vintage ones which are the primary colors my parents had for me and my brother when we were little.

These are the newer colors that are more translucent that they have now.

Happy Hump Day! Hope y'all are having a great week!

  1. Hey girl have you tried the straw sippy cups? Madi didn't like any of them but then we tried those and it worked. Not sure if you're transitioning from the bottle but either way it may work. :)

  2. I bought one of the Nuby ones with a straw and he tried it but didn't get the idea and then threw it down because he got frustrated. His daycare room still requires bottles but of course he uses sippy cups they have too. We won't be able to fully make the transition to no bottles until he leaves this room at daycare. So essentially he'll be quitting cold turkey but from what they say, all their babies seem to do fine. We'll see!
