Rain, Flu Shots, & h.e.l.l.o weekend!

Baker has been a great baby all week! It's been raining off and on the past few days which has really been a great change of pace for us since we NEVER get rain this much but on the other hand the storms coming through have really given me some headaches to deal with. We also got our flu shots on Wednesday just like in years past; however, this year I felt pretty bad all day yesterday. Hopefully it was just the shot's after effects that I've never had before but my throat is sore and I just was cold all day. I'm feeling better today though. We have yet to get Baker his flu shot. That is actually on our list today. Infants have to get flu shots in 2 doses since their little bodies can't take the full dose at once. However, can you believe they charge you TWICE to get the shot since you have to come back in 1 month to get the second dose?!?! So a $25 dollar flu shot for Baker is now a $50 flu shot. I can imagine most babies will not be getting a shot due to this issue. Baker has to get one due to the CDC requiring him have it. I'd prefer he get the shot versus the flu but oh get real health department!! Why can't I bring my receipt stating we paid the first go round instead of having to pay AGAIN! Oh well. I'll try to get the forms submitted to Tricare this time so we can get some sort of reimbursement for this expense. For crying outloud, our flu shots were FREE at Walgreens since we have Tricare. They don't administer to infants so the only places we can go are the UT Health Department or his doctor's office which won't be having a flu shot clinic until mid October at the earliest. I don't think we can wait that long with our luck. I'll post a pic when our sweet one wakes up so we can go get him the shot. They close at 430PM MST so I'm going to have to wake him up sooner than later. I'm sure he won't be too thrilled! Maybe he knows that's where he is headed so he is continuing to sleep...hmm smart baby on our hands? :)

Baker has been doing a lot at daycare these days. Eating is one of them. He eats just about anything they give him and enjoys it of course. He is pulling himself up onto furniture and the climbers they have there more and more. He now pulls himself up and stands for a while versus trying to pull up and then sitting back down. Last night we were holding his hands and I let go and he stood for a good minute on his own with no support!! YAY! :)

We are all very thankful for the long weekend ahead of us! No work on Monday for us! Well, I'll probably work a little bit from home but not all day that's for sure! We plan to watch the USC vs. Alabama game tomorrow and head to the pumpkin patch sometime this weekend to get our pumpkins and take some Fall pictures of our "pumpkin"! :) We went 1 year ago this weekend to get our pumpkins last year and if you click the link, you'll see just how "round" I looked back then. ha! Looks like I had a pumpkin under my shirt. :) Hope y'all have a great weekend!! I'll post pictures of our excursions!

On our way to get the flu shot.
Approximately 1 minute after his shot. He cried but quickly realized he was OK! Don't worry, he was wearing pants but we wanted to wait a few minutes to put them back on after the shot. :)
Passed out on the way home from Sam's Club. One of the several errands we had after getting his flu shot.
