Happy Birthday to...Me!

This is birthday 28 for me. eeekkk! :) Nah, I don't dread birthdays - I really do love them! They help remind me of the previous year and all that I have accomplished. Although I will say that this birthday kind of snuck up on me since we've been so busy being back home. However, I am grateful for all the blessings we have had this year and look forward to in the future. I'm pretty sure 2011 and year 28 for me will be great!

Overall this birthday was relaxing but oh so awesome since we spent it at home! It was great to be able to celebrate it with my family. Gordie and I went out to lunch at Carolina Wings, just us! It was nice to get away and have a nice lunch without having to worry about Baker, the diaper bag, or feedings. Although we probably talked about him 50% of the time. It was still a great time for us. Then we went shopping, something all women love. (However, I am slowly converting Gordie into a shopper - woot woot!). We didn't do any major shopping but just to a few little stores like Pier One and a small family owned toy store. Later in the evening my brother came over and we had reservations at 7PM at Miyabi's. That place was SO busy so we were thankful we had reservations. I think they are one of the few places anymore that takes reservations. I was nervous that Baker wasn't going to cooperate. He is getting a little more difficult when we go out to dinner. However, I was SO wrong. Since it is hibatchi style cooking, he was completely entertained by the cook cooking all the food right there in front of you. He got shy though every time the cook talked to him and turned his head. But that's just typical Baker. :) We then came home and ate cheesecake and I opened my birthday presents! I have some $ to buy some much needed clothes for myself which I am trying to save for when we head up to Concord Mills sometime soon. I haven't bought clothes for myself in forever. I seem to have much more fun buying Baker clothes than myself. However, this doesn't make getting dressed any easier when we are getting ready to go somewhere because I am always complaining that I have nothing to wear. Clearly I have plenty of clothes but I don't know where half of them are since we moved and some are here and some are packed away in storage. My hopes of packing the way I wanted didn't pan out as I had hoped. Oh well! I need some new clothes anyway since having a Baby a year ago and not really buying anything new for over a year and then another year prior since most of my clothes bought before were all maternity! Anyone that knows me, I love new clothes and to shop so we'll see what good buys I can find soon enough. Here are some pictures to summarize my day!
Baker wanting my phone while waiting in the lobby to eat. The restaurant has the neatest bright blue ceiling which has little lights on it to represent the sky with stars. Baker thoroughly enjoyed it.

Making a wish

My beautiful ring that has a citrine stone which is November's birthstone. I know my birthday is in December; however, I had been wanting a ring with Baker's birthstone in it and this ring is absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much Gordie!!!

Now that my birthday has come and gone, I must start planning for Gordie's birthday that is coming in just 1 month - January 30th. This is one special birthday as he will be 30 on the 30th! I don't think he minds me sharing that info...or does he? :D
