Video of Baker belly laughing at Miller - click here
Our sweet boy. He was so patient while we packed and sat in his jumper a little more often than usual just so we could keep him occupied. This is him wiped out on Monday after watching everyone move furniture after his 12 month well visit. *Take notice that his legs are crossed! :)
While Gordie and Dad were at home waiting on the guys to come over to help move everything, I took Baker to his 12 month well visit. We had to see Dr. Chen one more time. Baker was laughing, cackling, and smiling away until she walked in the room. Then he was straight faced and then burst into tears and couldn't stop crying. The last few visits he has been doing this. She said he is already associating getting shots with visiting there or perhaps just seeing her (even though she isn't the one that administers the shots!) He weighs a little under where the charts say he should - 21 lbs and he is 31 inches tall. She isn't concerned about his weight being that we both are fairly thin so she thinks he is right on target! He got 3 shots: MMR, Chickenpox, and the 2nd dose of the flu shot. Thankfully, they let us get it there instead of having to make a separate trip to the health department. I gave him some Motrin an hour in advance so he took those shots like a champ and wasn't fussy one bit and actually slept great! No fever yet or reactions to anything so we are thankful.

My happy 1 yr old before his shots.
We got home to see the boys hard at work. I picked up some pizzas for dinner to thank them for working so hard. I'm not sure we would have been able to do it without them. I've always paid movers to move me due to the simple fact that it is just so much work and it takes a toll on you! We are going to definitely pay some movers to unload the junk into storage when we get home. Tuesday was designated as "cleaning day". Well, little did we know we had more stuff to get packed so it ended up being a finish packing and get clean day. We originally had our move out walk thru at 10AM but I got it changed to later since we needed a whole lot more time to get things done. We busted our butts but still weren't done in the time frame we needed. Liz came by and looked at everything and made some recommendations on things to do and we were set. The walk through was at 445PM yet we didn't leave the house until almost 10PM. Yes, we were up and at em' for more than 12 hours. We all were EXHAUSTED. We took a small break to take Baker over to our next door neighbors house to see Judy and Deron. We sure are going to miss them!! Judy needs a lung transplant and the Univ of Utah denied her so please send her prayers and I'm hoping the grace of God and His great work will help provide that to her when He sees fit. She has such a warm, thoughtful soul and deserves nothing more than to grow old with her love and see her little girl, Jade, grow up. We will miss you guys but know we'll stay in touch!!

Me and Judy.

Baker standing at his "tool bench". He found a faucet piece that we didn't ever put on and loved holding onto it and banging it on the step stool.

Kneeling by his bench.

This was my moving/cleaning attire. Yes, those are 2 different shoes (one ugg boot and one LLBean Slipper as the pairs to both of them were packed somewhere already) I am wearing AF cold weather long johns for men so if you look closely...yes, that is a "pee hole" a gray tank top with my brown Northface fleece. To top it off my hair was a complete mess!
Right here we were waiting on the boys to get the truck and trailer ready so that we could leave the house! I hated him being in the house with the smells of all the cleaning supplies. However, Angela (our other neighbor) brought us over a plate of chocolate chip cookies so I had to eventually put those outside due to Baker wanting a piece, and then another, and another. I didn't get him any chocolate chips but he loved the cookie part. Gordie and Dad finally go things taken care of getting my car on the trailer and securing it down. It was a little difficult since it was dark and I'm sure it didn't help we are on a slight hill. We left the house looking spotless. It was so much better than when moved in so we are ready to get our security deposit back! We checked into the La Quinta last night after we got moved out and we got just a taste of what the next few days will be like with all the "stuff" we have to cart in with Miller, Freida, and Baker. Luggage, crates, food, dishes, pack n play, etc. I'm sure it will be pretty methodical once we get to the 4th night of driving and piling into a hotel for the night. We just can't wait to get home! Today started out with going on base with Gordie to ensure his Virtual MPF checklist was complete and it was! We had an appointment scheduled with MPF at Noon so we had some time to kill since he worked so hard to get it done so quickly. So we took our time getting other things done we needed to do before leaving like closing our safety deposit box and getting the contents along with returning our Comcast equipment to get our credit. We grabbed an early lunch at Noodles & Co. and then headed on the base to get his final out processing appointments done. We waited for the out processing person and then she finally took us back. Gordie had all the documents she needed which was great! Thanks to some guy at the Family Readiness Center, we had to leave MPF and go over there for him to get a DD Form over to them so he could finish his out processing. We got the guy to e-mail the form and then we were golden. His MPF appointment was complete so she walked us over to finance and Gordie signed several papers and we were counseled on his paychecks and some travel voucher paperwork to complete when we get home. We then tried to get our ID cards situated. I was able to get my dependent card reissued to expire in 2013 versus what my current one is at 2011. Gordie on the other hand has to wait to get his privelege card made due to us thinking it was not a good idea to deactivate his CAC card just in case some screw was missing somewhere and he needed to get something done on the computer for something and he wasn't able to. We will just pay Shaw AFB a visit prior to his CAC card expiring so that he can get his new card made. It's always something but now he is a free man and is no longer gov't owned after 28 January since he'll technically still be getting paychecks from the AF due to his terminal & permissive leave.

Signing his final appointment paperwork @ Finance

We were just told that he is good to go and good luck! I know he will do great things outside of the Air Force.

My sweetheart after his final out appointments! He is done!

Last day in is AF Uniform!
We are relaxing in the hotel room for now. Everyone is completely wiped. We're headed to eat dinner with the Merrick's this evening @ Jason's Deli. We sure will miss them!! We plan on heading out and hitting the road after Gordie's dentist appointment at 8AM. Check out isn't until Noon so we have time to get stuff ready and packed while he is at his appointment so we don't have to rush to be out of the room. All of us cannot wait to get back!! I'll update you guys on the trip if I can post along the way. Otherwise, I'll do a trip recap once we get there.
South Carolina - HERE WE COME!!!
