Good morning Amarillo
The weather in Amarillo had changed quickly overnight from the mild temps yesterday to a brisk 40 degrees with crazy winds. So crazy that you could barely open your door without it flinging wide open! We all were thankful that this driving day would be short due to the heavy winds making it very difficult for Gordie to drive the Penske truck. There were a few times during our 4 hour trek to OKC that my stomach got queasy due to the winds making him swerve. I had to start keeping my eyes glued on my phone or focused on Baker in the backseat because I just couldn't watch the swerving or all the other trucks making his driving more difficult. There was a lot more traffic on the road and I assume it was because it is the weekend. We have enjoyed having the roads to ourselves so far so all the traffic today was a little annoying. We stopped just past Oklahoma City in a town called Del City which is near Midwest City. A bad tornado came through this way years ago and I remember Natalie from work telling me it went right through the SAIC office that is located in Midwest City. Thank goodness it is Winter - I would freak if I had to stop here in the Summer. I still am iffy stopping here anyway despite the weather not being bad other than extremely windy.

Windmills are also in Oklahoma - they were huge!

Happy boy along the way
We checked in at 2:00PM and unloaded our "junk". The boys turned on the football game and I played some games on my phone. Since South Carolina wasn't doing so hot, we went over to the Buffalo Wild Wings right across the interstate to finish watching the game. It was an ugly game and I hate that we didn't play well at all. Our dinner of wings and buffalo chips was awesome and Baker cheesed it up as usual. He is getting to be quite the little toddler - personality and all as he loves to devil you. I'll put on his hat to protect him from the cold and he'll rip it right off before we even get out the car and he'll smile really big and let out a belly laugh and he does it all the time!! I feel he will be a strong willed boy which can be good and bad. LOL At times he knows he is doing something he shouldn't and looks back at you for you to say something and gives you the look of "hey can I get away with this?" Then you can give him the "glare" and he will just laugh! OOOoo what a child we have! He is so special though and has the best smile that can cure any bad mood you might be in. He is the best!

Happy Boy after dinner at BWW. Notice he is lying on top of Gus

He pulls off his socks, pants, and now his onesie?! hahah I am typing this post and notice he is so quiet and I look over and see this. He is a riot. :)

So proud of himself.
Tomorrow's destination goal is Memphis, Tennessee. Hopefully the winds will have died down overnight so we have a smoother drive and Baker stays this happy!
