Big Decisions, Bath Time & Play Time!

Today we had lunch at NYPD Pizza with some of my coworkers. A PM that works in our office is leaving for a government job so they had a farewell lunch for him. Everyone from the base was there and hadn't met Baker yet so they enjoyed seeing and making a big fuss over him. A lady there was telling me about 2 daycares in the area that she really liked so I was all ears. The waiting list for the child development center on base is 6-8 months so unless I take Baker to work with me everyday (which I probably would get NO work done) then I had to find something. I have 5 more weeks left to stay home with him and while I don't want it to end, I had to take on the dreaded task of finding childcare. We have toyed with the idea of someone watching Baker instead of taking him to an actual daycare. However, I just don't like the idea of someone putting him in their car and going places with him. I just don't have control and all of you know I am Mrs. Control Freak. I like the thought of dropping him off at a place and knowing he can't get in a car accident or have a chance of getting hurt outside of someone's home. I contacted both facilities and we went to see them this afternoon. First we visited La Petite. Now, I went to one of these when I was younger so I was a little familiar with them and the way they were run. However, daycare has really changed since I was there! It is located across the street from my work so off the bat it gets good points for being close to my work and our home. It is a secure facility as you have to punch in a code to get past the front office so that was another good point. The infant room director and the girls that work in the infant room were really nice and they seemed to adore Baker, but who wouldn't? haha :) The only drawback is the price. Yep, the cost is pretty steep but we can make it work. They say they should have an open spot for mid February which is when we would need it. I am now just waiting on the director of the daycare to call me tomorrow to let me know for sure. *keep your fingers crossed* I really don't want to put him in daycare but I must go back to work so we have more disposable income and so we can save for our future! I just know it will be really hard leaving him! But I will feel a little better knowing he is just right across the street! We didn't bother going to the second place. I wasn't really fond of them by talking to them on the phone so that told me right then that it wasn't the place for us. So now we just wait!

Hanging out with Daddy
Isn't this just the cutest outfit? Would you believe me if I said it is a 3 month outfit!! It is on the smaller weight side for a 3 month outfit but needless to say, Baker is growing!!
Look at those baby blues!

Baker just LOVES getting a bath! Whitney gave us the cutest bathrobe and booties so last night we thought Baker was big enough to finally fit in them. Thank you Whitney!!! He just looks absolutely adorable, doesn't he?

Baker is just advancing so much. He really is alert in the evenings before bedtime so last night we took full advantage and captured this video of him on Gordie's chest. It is just amazing to see him hold his head up so high and the way he just looks around the room while doing so. He's a strong boy!
