Many Faces

We had friends over last night for dinner and they have babies so that meant Baker had a play date! Carleigh (3 weeks) and Christopher (almost 5 months) came over last night with their mommies and daddies of course and we had a great time! Carleigh's dad, Rob, works with Gordie in his shop and is actually deployed to Afghanistan so we were happy to have his wife, Sam, over to spend time with us. I know she was happy to get out of the house! Christopher's mom and dad both are in the AF and they live just down the street from us. His Dad, David, is from SC but is a Clemson fan so we keep our distance about sports. ha ha just kidding. Well, after everyone had left to go home I started to clean up and then got so mad at myself! I meant to get a picture of all the babies together! However, that just means we'll have to do it again so I can get one next time! Since we had so much going on yesterday getting the house cleaned and ready, Baker and I are just taking it easy and doing absolutely nothing! It feels good too. Gordie leaves tonight for his sleep study to test if he has sleep apnea. It will be his first night away from us. We'll miss him but good thing it is only for 1 night!

Baker has been really expressive today and reacting to faces I make or words I say. This morning after I fed and changed him, I was tucking him back into his bassinet to put him back down to sleep and he did the cutest thing! I was saying "I'm tucking you in" really soft and sweet and he smiled oh so big. I said it again as I tucked the other side of the blanket around him and he smiled again! Oh, it melted my heart to see him smile to something I was saying/doing. Then, I sang him the I Love You song that Gordie would sometimes sing to me when I would get upset when we were apart while he was in tech school so I now sing it to Baker and as I was singing it he smiled really big AGAIN! I sang it a second time and when I was on the verse, "I love you Baker, yes I do..." right when I said his name he smiled again! After seeing that sweet smile so many times, I fell right to sleep. I am such a proud mommy and he just made my day!

When we woke up a little later, I got him into his outfit for the day...Mr. Moose. He looked so cute in it that I thought I'd get some pictures. Well, I got some really cute, expressive faces. One that is absolutely priceless and I saved it for last.
