You will not believe his eyes...

Yesterday I noticed that Baker's eyes are changing! His eyes are becoming more blue instead of being dark blue, his eyelashes are coming in fuller and are getting longer and his eyebrows are also starting to make an appearance. I can't really get a good picture of this with my camera because his eyelashes are so light! Gordie's lashes are a light brown/dark blond and so are Baker's so it is near impossible to get a clear picture of them because of the color. I'll try to get one with our HD camera...

We took a field trip to my work yesterday so I could donate some $ for a coworker's gift and visit with everyone. Baker did so good! He absolutely loves to be held by other people which is a great thing! We were there for about an hour and a half and he didn't cry once. We visited with everyone and checked in to see how things were going. He even gave someone a smile! That was a first. :) Everyone kept asking when I was coming back and I kept saying oh sometime in February. I am not counting the days... :) Once we left there, we made a pitstop by Sonic. Baker was fed at my work but mama was parched! It was still "Happy Hour" so I got my favorite, a cherry limeade, for less than a $1! I then called Gordie to see how long he would still be at work and it turned out that he was home! We must have just missed eachother becuase he said he got home at 12:45PM and we left the house at 12:30PM! My blackberry is getting thrown to the curb soon since we can upgrade our phones on the 16th. I am not getting calls/texts lately and apparently Gordie was worried sick about us since he couldn't get in touch with us but figured I would check in with him sooner or later. And here we were just taking our good ol' time running around because we figured he was at work!

Gordie needed to vent some frustration so we picked him up and headed for the base so he could work out. We dropped him off at the gym and Baker and I headed for the BX to look around. We had a good time looking at baby clothes or should I say I did. Baker slept the entire time. He is such a good shopper! He knows his mama likes to shop and cooperates! Now, if we could ever get up to Park City to go to the outlets so I can spend some christmas/birthday money...that will be the real test for Baker to see how he does! We treated ourselves to dinner at Texas Roadhouse (yes, this is our favorite restaurant). Baker still did good. He was quiet and looked around the entire time. He doesn't mind noisy restaurants. I think he likes them more than quiet ones to be honest or was it the southern country music playing that he enjoys? We'll never know! Baker is continuing to make progress with lifting his head, keeping it up, and looking around. We got a video last night before bed of him on Gordie's chest and it was just amazing how long he kept his head up and looked around. I am definitely proud of him and keep encouraging him to do so. I have read some articles that babies start to lift their heads, move from side to side, and do other movements and when they lose encouragement to continue they digress and stop doing it. So we are doing everything we can to encourage his development! He loves tummy time especially in the morning and late afternoon. I just love watching him move around as I know those wheels in his head are turning. I just wish I knew what he was thinking!

I have now learned what Baker's hungry cry sounds like. It starts out as small little cries, followed by a cry that sounds like "uuuungeeeeeeeeeee", followed by one loud scream, then a few little cries. He isn't much of a crier still except when he has waited too long to eat and he wants his ba ba NOW!

This weekend we are babysitting a friend of ours baby who is 6 months old. Her mom, Traci, is deploying tomorrow for Afghanistan and her dad has to work all weekend as he is also in the AF but not deploying. It sure will be a test for the trials on babies for us! I've never babysat more than 1 infant at a time so hopefully it won't be too hard. Gordie has to work Saturday morning for a few hours but then will be home so I won't have to tackle them alone! I think they said she is crawling or starting to now so lord help me! I am a little disappointed because this will hinder us from going to church on Sunday unless we go to the 8:30 contemporary church service. We'll see, I am such a creature of habit and enjoy traditional services but a contemporary one might be neat for a change. I guess I'll have to see how Saturday goes first before thinking we can venture out in the early hours on Sunday before a long day of babysitting 2 little ones.

Gordie was supposed to only work a half day today but he ended up having to work the entire day so we are just relaxing until he gets home! That is our favorite part of the day--greeting him at the door! I just love staying at home with my little guy and know the day I have to leave him somewhere to go to work will be so difficult but we will manage!

xoxo
