1 month!

It is exactly 1 month until we are home in SC on vacation. Woohoo! This time next month we will be at the SLC airport waiting to board our red eye/night flight home!! We opted for an overnight flight in hopes that Baker would travel better and stay on somewhat his "normal schedule" while in transit. We'll see. He loves the car but I know planes are always iffy. Some babies aren't phased by it and some just scream their heads off. I definitely don't want the latter for obvious reasons especially since most people will be trying to sleep so here's to hoping! We just can't wait to get home and see everyone. Most importantly for some of our family to see how much Baker has grown and others to meet him for the first time!

Baker is developing and growing so much these days. This morning he woke up at 5am soaked. His diaper must have moved and pee was absolutely everywhere! Who knew an almost 5 month old could wet the bed already? :) Needless to say I thought he was screaming because he was hungry. The minute I picked him up and he was soaked I knew that is why he was screaming so loud. We got him cleaned up and diapered and then it was like the flip of a switch as he stopped squealing. I already had warmed a bottle for him so he happily took that while Gordie changed his sheets and we all went back to bed! He is trying to roll over more and more. He has had some pretty close calls but not a "full roll over" yet. His one arm gets in the way and he just gets too frustrated to get over it and figure out how to get past it. He will soon though as I feel the day is coming soon.

Since we had quite the ordeal earlier that morning, a bath was definitely on deck but we didn't have the energy at 5AM so when we got up the second and last time at 930AM we knew it was time to get him in the tub. He really is starting to enjoy bath time much more. Kicking fiercely in the water. His feet are hitting the bottom of his infant tub so I think that makes him kick even more. It was really funny to watch. I'll have to get it on video next time.

It was in the lower-mid 70s today so Baker had the luxury of wearing shorts & a short sleeve shirt! That also meant he went blanket free in his car seat! I often wondered what it would be like not having to have a cover or blanket covering his car seat and today I got a glimpse of what that was like and boy was it nice! Those covers and blankets while they did their job protecting him from the cold were so annoying as it was just one more thing to lug around. Not to mention Baker LOVES to look around at everything. He has been so tired tonight so I think not having the blanket covering him allowed his brain so much stimulation that he has been conked out all night.

Today was Book Fair Day at Barnes & Nobles. A percentage of what you bought if you presented the voucher at the counter would go to the CDC. We bought Baker 4 adorable books. We read one tonight with him and he was kicking, holding the book, and cooing at it. We went to the commissary for some groceries after getting his books. I pushed Baker in the stroller while Gordie commanded the buggy getting the things we needed. It didn't take long before Baker won the eyes and hearts of some people in the commissary. It never fails that we always meet a few new strangers every time we go somewhere. And of course since Baker has the greatest personality, he always puts on a show for them full of smiles, laughs, and eye batting. :) He knows how to work the crowd.

Rice cereal is still going great! We gave him his usual 1 tablespoon mixed with 1 oz of formula. Gordie fed it to him tonight and he just loved it. He hasn't been around to feed it to him during the week and now since his daycare gives it to him at lunchtime, I don't feed it to him at home now unless it is the weekend. I don't want to up him to 2 times a day yet. I hear too much of it gives a nasty case of constipation and I don't want him having any of that! I feel like he is already "gassy" enough.

Well, church is calling tomorrow morning so we all need to get to bed. Baker is already sleeping and that means we should be too!

xoxo. I'll post some pictures tomorrow.
