102 is an awesome grade in High School when you passed your test with flying colors and possibly some extra credit too. 102 is an extremely hot, humid day in South Carolina, 102 is the KSL news radio station here in town, but all of these 102's are much more fun than what 102 means to us right now. 102 is currently where Baker's fever stands. Poor little guy!! He has been diagnosed with the Adenovirus. A virus that is vary contagious especially in childcare facilities and schools. Go figure!! The virus usually carries a high fever for several days (usually 5). His throat is a little red and irritated probably due to the mucus that seems to linger back there and won't get cleared away when he coughs or cries. Today he isn't eating his bottles as quickly or as easy due to the build up. The formula just thickens that collection of mucus and just makes the situation worse. I have to stop and burp him a lot during his feeding otherwise he chokes and coughs way too much. Looks like we will see how he is over the weekend. I just hope this doesn't mean we are going to have a bad week next week! I think Gordie is still on swing shift so at least he could be with him until 230PM and I could go to work during that time and I would just have to come home when it is time for Gordie to get to work. Only time will tell! Baker is set to go to his 4 month well visit on Tuesday, 6 April. We'll see if he is "well" by then or not! This is a big appointment as he has a follow up to get some more vaccines as well as we can talk to the Dr. about giving him more fun foods besides formula! YAY...I'm thinking Baker will really like some rice cereal but who knows! :)
He still has a fever despite me giving him ibuprofen but I know that it takes a little while to kick in so I'm just watching him closely. I was a little reluctant to give him ibuprofen as it says to only give it to 6 mo+ but a Dr. at his clinic said it was fine. He meets the weight requirements and this will help to keep his fever down for a longer period of time without having to administer it as much as I would if we were doing Tylenol. He took the Ibuprofen down just fine. Poor guy has had quite his fair share of medications as of late. Me giving him the syringe of medicine is old news to him. He's quite the medicine taking pro!
Keep us in your prayers!
