Growing Like a Weed!

Our sweet little boy is just a growin! He is developing quite the personality. Laughing at silly faces I make, when I move my head side to side and my hair flings all over the place, or when Gordie blows raspberries on his belly. He will be 5 months next week and I just am beside myself at the thought. That means he will be 1 month shy of being a 1/2 year old. They weren't lying when they said the months just fly by. Every day he looks less and less a little baby and more a sweet, handsome little boy. I miss his "littleness" as I was looking at some of his earlier pictures last night. It is so fun to look at those pictures and see how he has changed over the months. He is turning into quite the most handsome boy I know. I let him sit in his bumbo seat last night for a good hour. He was playing with toys and blocks while he sat and watched "Dancing with the Stars". Don't worry, he watches his fair share of "man-ly" things (i.e. football, baseball, basketball, home DIY shows, etc.) He is liking the bumbo seat more and more. He still HATES tummy time but we (myself & the CDC) are working on that daily. He will take it for a few minutes and then totally throw a screaming/crying tantrum. Then the minute you flip him over he flips like a switch and stops crying. Crazy boy! He has a new friend at the CDC. He usually hangs out with Ryan and Austin but the past two weeks he has been paying a lot of attention to Aspyn. She is a little girl there and I have no clue how old she is but she loves tummy time and shaking objects while she is on her tummy and DROOLING. Now Baker drools too but Aspyn really drools like all over! Poor child. She is pretty cute. Reminds me of a bigger cabbage patch doll. Baker just usually stares at her. Sometimes I wonder what goes through his little mind! :) Yesterday Gordie said he put him down on his tummy and they were facing each other and she would coo and he would coo/grunt back and they did this back and forth for a few minutes. Then Aspyn started shaking this bottle that had beans in it and Baker screamed. hahaha Gordie then moved him to the seat so he could sit up and watch her from afar. He loves to be near her but I guess just like any girl she can get annoying at times. hahah

You might remember this picture from March. This is Aspyn on Baker's left. See the bigger cabbage patch doll resemblence? I do! She just has a wider face than Baker and I imagine she is a little older than him too. Notice, if you click on the picture to make it bigger you will see a bib on Aspyn. The CDC provides bibs, blankets, sheets, etc. but the bibs they provide as you can see are huge and really long! haha

He is still eating 5oz despite the CDC thinking we should "up" his intake. Dr. Chen seems to think 5 oz every 3 hours is the perfect amount for him. For crying out loud he is almost 15 lbs! Some babies reach 18 lbs at 1 year old and we have a whopper baby at 14 lbs at 4 months! So he surely isn't wasting away. However, I will say he isn't chubby at all. He is just a "solid" baby. I'd rather him be a little on the chubs side versus being a string bean. His genes have it in store for him to be skinny so he can enjoy some baby fat rolls for now. We are giving him rice cereal once a day right now. Then we'll increase it to twice a day soon. Then if all goes well we will start Stage 1 baby food! Of course, veggies first! Hopefully they go down easier than this rice cereal has. Of course, the rice cereal isn't the most tasty food I've had either so I guess I don't blame him.

We love you!
