21.5 week visit & nursery update!

We had our follow up appointment July 29th and I am 21.5 weeks along. The last appointment was very exciting as we found out we "probably" were having a boy but this appointment was even more exciting because we were hopefully going to "reconfirm"!

She did confirm that we ARE having a boy as he revealed himself a little more than last time and that he is growing very well. He weighs 15 ounces which is a good increase since our last appointment when he was 7 ounces. His belly and head are growing at a good rate and everything looks normal. I first felt him kick on July 5th and he hasn't stopped kicking and punching since. I have noticed his most active times are late morning (11AM-1PM) and early evening when I am lying down before bed. He was pretty shy during this ultrasound until I started talking about how active he has been over the past few weeks. He quickly started wiggling around and wouldn't stop. Our doctor then told us that we have a "wiggleworm" on our hands! He definitely is an active baby which was really neat to see. He already has the best personality which I think fits us both!

I have gained almost 8 lbs since my last appointment which is really good for me. Overall I have gained 11 lbs to date. We were really excited because we want a healthy not scrawny baby! We didn't get a good ultrasound picture this time since he kept bouncing around; however, I did take a screen shot of one second when she captured his face and what are his blurred hands (he was moving them--I said he was waving). It really isn't that great of a picture because it can easily look like nothing but like I said it's hard to get something when he kept moving around so much!

I have my targeted ultrasound on August 12th so we should be able to see a lot more during that visit and I go back to the doctor for another appointment on September 9th and I will then be doing the glucose testing. We are slowly getting things ready as my parents helped us paint the nursery while they were here! It is the same color from my room back home - a pretty green called jungle chamelon. My parents bought us the crib and changing table we picked out which we are thankful for. Now we just need to decorate the room and get all the baby extras! My mom and I had a great time while she was here picking out all sorts of baby boy clothes too! I kept the receipts just in case we got a surprise at this visit and needed to return them; however, after today it looks like we get to keep everything! I have attached a few pictures of the nursery and some of the cute clothes we have picked up so far. We officially are going to have a little gamecock in our family. :)
