Road Trip!

While my parents were visiting, we planned a road trip to visit some awesome places! We left on July 3rd and were "road trippin" for a week! We left our house early in the morning from Layton, UT from and our first stop was San Francisco so we were CA bound! We went through Reno, Lake Tahoe, and Sacramento on the way and stayed in Oakland right outside of SF for 2 days. While in SF, we saw the Giants play on July 4th and celebrated the holiday by eating at Pier 39 and boy did we have some yummy seafood and saw some beautiful fireworks while sitting at our table! After seeing many SF sights, we took our travels through northern CA and headed through the Redwoods up through the coast of Oregon. The Redwood Forest was definitely a sight to see. We have never seen trees that big, ever. They almost looked out of this world huge. While the roads made the trip quite interesting, we all made it in one piece. As Gordie says, despite us girls getting car sick from the curvy roads...that's what we'll remember most about the trip...the bonding experience! ha ha. We then stayed in northern Oregon in a town called Astoria. Not only was it the cutest town ever it was also the place that Gordie's favorite movie, The Goonies, was filmed. We ate at another seafood dinner in downtown Astoria and my dad and Gordie acted like they hadn't eaten a meal in months. I have never heard them say so many good things about a restaurant or the dinner they ate than that night. We then left for Washington heading towards Portland and then our last destination, Seattle! I think everyone really enjoyed Seattle. It was such a quaint place with such pizazz. From Pikes Place Market to fun shopping downtown, to going to the top of the space needle. It was definitely a place I would love to go back and visit. Zeek's Pizza was amazing and ifanyone visits Seattle, you must eat there! Overall, our road trip was awesome. We had the best time and we thank my parents so much for taking us and showing us such a good time! Here's a few more pictures from our adventure...
