The last weekend in June, my parents arrived for their 3 week vacation! Gordie and I were THRILLED to see them and couldn't wait to spend our time off of work with them. Before we went on our road trip the boys had planned, we had a few things we wanted to do around here to show them a good time in Utah. We went to Cowabunga Bay Water Park in Draper, UT one afternoon and had a great time. Since I am pregnant, I wasn't able to go down any water slides but mom and I had fun wading in the pool and relaxing by the lazy river. We also went to Gordie's softball game and saw him make some spectacular plays! We made a trip up to Park City to see the historic town and visit the outlets! We had a great time!
We had our big dr. appointment on July 1st and my parents were so happy to be a part of this appointment. This was the biggest one thus far since we were supposed to find out whether our little bundle was a boy or a girl. I am 17.5 weeks and they say you can tell at around 15 weeks depending on the baby and their position. Our baby hasn't been too cooperative in previous ultrasounds as he is always conservative in the way he is positioned but we were hoping that we would leave the appointment knowing if we were blue or pink! So far since I am almost half way, I can't complain about anything. I haven't had any morning sickness yet and I feel great!
Drumroll...our baby was cooperative and we are having a BOY! The doctor is pretty sure that there is a little boy in there. However, right now he is 7 ounces and growing. He has a good, normal size head and we saw both arms and legs with all fingers and toes. He is a shy, conservative one as he didn't want to reveal himself to us too much as he just kept wanting to cross his legs. The doctor had to give him a shake or two to "rattle" him up to make him move. I still haven't felt him move around yet but I am sure that is soon to come. I have gained 1 lb since last month so I am slowly making progress on that front. My mom and I have plans to go to Babies R Us to get registered and start buying stuff to get prepared!
We are super excited and can't wait to share more details! My next appt is July 29th so we'll post more then! I'll send out some pictures of me soon as even though I still look normal you can see a pooch in there somewhere. :) I know my belly pictures have been on high demand. ha ha.
